What's for dinner tonight?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive September 2004: What's for dinner tonight?
By Cat on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 - 11:48 am:

I threw some frozen chicken, frozen broccoli, cream of mushroom soup and milk in the crock pot. Hope it turns out! lol What's everyone else having (if you can't tell, yes, I'm hunting for new ideas :) )?

By Boxzgrl on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 - 11:51 am:

I'm thinking either some leftover spaghetti or sloppy joes. I have too much ground turkey to cook up so something that calls for that. Don't know about side dishes yet.

By Vicki on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 - 11:55 am:

Have no idea.....dh is working late, so it is just me and dd.

By Emily7 on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 - 12:48 pm:

Fish with rice pilaf.

By Tonya on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 - 12:50 pm:

Homemade chicken and rice soup!!

Tomorrow is hamburger helper and leftover soup!!

By Janet on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 - 01:01 pm:

Hmmm... it's too early to think about supper! LOL My little dd is going with a friend to "Taco Tuesday" at a local place, and dh is in the field, so it'll just be the teenage dd and me. She won't handle fish sticks anymore (used to be my standard field work menu), so I'll need to be creative. Fish (not sticks!) and rice sounds really good..I may steal that idea.

By Kernkate on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 - 01:05 pm:

Chicken Parmesan with rigatoni's and a toss salad.
Tonya soup sounds so good on a rainy day like today I think I will whip some up tomorrow.
Cat, I am Always looking for some new ideas:)

By Debbie on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 - 01:50 pm:

Dh is having dinner with a friend who is in town, so it is just me and my ds's. My oldest is home sick with a stomach bug and my youngest could live on PB&J, so I will probably just heat up leftovers for myself.

By Mommyathome on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 - 02:21 pm:

We are having homemade meatballs and some kind of potato. Also green salad and steamed carrots. If I get around to it, I'll bake a cake for dessert.

By Cat on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 - 02:27 pm:

Kathy, your Chicken Parmesan with rigationi sound good. Care to share the recipe??? :)

By Kolbysmom on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 - 02:29 pm:

We're having chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes and rolls.

By Janet on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 - 02:55 pm:

Ack! I had supper all decided, and DH just called and asked me to come out to the farm and chop stalks after work (up Green Acres theme song). So I guess I'll be eating whatever my MIL serves us, LOL!

By Hdelfuego on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 - 03:29 pm:

I cooked enchiladas last night, and Tues. night is always pizza night at our house. I know healthy, huh? I'll do better tomorrow.

By Rayanne on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 - 03:30 pm:

Leftover Shepard's Pie for DH. Kids and I ate a late lunch at the Olive Garden so we aren't very hungry. I may make them pancakes as a treat. :)

By Dawnk777 on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 - 09:19 pm:

We went to Cousins Subs for supper, but I did go to the store tonight to buy ingredients for spaghetti. Emily grew some basil this summer and wanted to have it in some spaghetti. So, I think I'm hungry for it, too. We should make the meatballs tonight.

By Tink on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 - 09:50 pm:

We had burritos and a green salad. Nothing exciting. :(

By Feona on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 - 07:01 am:

We had pork chops breaded and fried. Green beans with almonds. Onion bread.

By Bellajoe on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 - 08:38 am:

Tonight it is Meatloaf, mashed potatos with gravy, some veggies and if i get to making it, pumpkin pie for dessert.

It is in the 60's here today, so i feel like some cold weather food, can ya tell? :)

By Conni on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 - 09:29 am:

I made spaghetti in the crock pot with ground turkey meat. ewwwwww yuk I know. lol But it is so low fat I have been buying it lately.

By Cybermommyx4 on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 - 09:35 am:

Patti, LOL at the "cold weather food" comment---it's in the 60's? That's summer BBQ weather here :)

By Boxzgrl on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 - 09:41 am:

Conni, I prefer ground turkey over hamburger meat anyday, am I strange, LOL!

We ended up having El Pollo Loco and tonight will definitely be leftovers.

By Vicki on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 - 09:49 am:

Told you I would cook tonight.... I already have a beef pot roast in the crock pot!!

By Kernkate on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 - 10:07 am:

Melissa, what is El Pollo Loco???

By Mommyathome on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 - 10:15 am:

Isn't it "The Crazy Chicken" or something like that? Mexican food?

By Boxzgrl on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 - 11:19 am:

LOL, El Pollo Loco is basically a much better version of Kentucky Fried Chicken or for you East Coasters, it's like Hardees. Basically a chicken and side dishes fast food restaurant.

By Boxzgrl on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 - 11:21 am:

You can check it out at www.elpolloloco.com

By Dawnk777 on Thursday, September 30, 2004 - 01:17 am:

Oops, didn't get the spaghetti made for tonight, but we did make it for Thursday's supper! I only have to make the pasta tomorrow!

Kids and I went out for pizza. We eat out way too often. With cooler weather coming, I'm more in the mood for comfort food, so will probably cook more.
