Sad Day

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive September 2004: Sad Day
By Momoffour on Sunday, September 26, 2004 - 09:25 pm:

Our little Dog Cola that we got a few months back died. It all happened less then 48 hours. We went outback and she was up running and playing chase with dd and that next morning she died. The vet said that he thinks she eather got into something poisonis or someone poisoned her. I walked the whole yard and couldn't find anything. A day before she got out and was running in the back alley but not for very long. So I don't know if she got into something. I have no clue if anyone could have poisoned her. We have pretty good neighbors who also have a dog and I don't know much about the ones who live on the otherside of the alley. Our border Collie is fine. I really don't know what happened. we didn't have her very long but We all miss her. My youngest DD went to the dollar store and found a puppy flash light that she told me his name is Cola.

Thinking of you and your family. Losing a pet is so hard, regardless if it's sudden or not.

I'm so sorry. We thought someone had poisoned our dog a few months ago. Still aren't *positive*, but she certainly was sick, and acting crazy. That is sickening to think someone would do that to another person's pet. {{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}

If somebody leaked some antifreeze from a car, a small amount might be enough to kill a small puppy.
Antifreeze is sweet smelling and tasting and animals will drink it. When I was growing up a neighbor was doing some work on his car and spilled some antifreeze into a hubcap. His dog drank some of it. My neighbor saw it but didn't know it was a big deal. The adult dog almost died and would have if the neighbor hadn't told the vet about the antifreeze so that the vet was able to give the antidote.
I love my dog and am so sympathetic to your loss.
