I had a bad night

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive September 2004: I had a bad night
By Rayanne on Thursday, September 23, 2004 - 02:45 pm:

Around 1:30 in the morning, I got up to use the bathroom. Nothing unusual for me. After I peed, (sorry) I got this horrible pain in my lower stomch above my pubic bone. It felt like my ovaries were filling up with air. It hurt sooooo bad. I waddled back to our room and woke up Chris. I could not lay still. It hurt sooo bad and when he touched the area it was worse. I told him to call 911 because I thought that I was going to die. He said that it was my intestines and that I probably should go #2, but I didn't have to. He carried me to the toilet and he asked me if I had eaten or drank anything out of the ordinary, and I hadn't. I did remember that the milk I drank before bed tasted a little weird. He went to get it to smell it and said that it smelled a little sour. It's supposed to be good until Sunday though. I think that I might have gotten some type of food poisoning or something. I feel better now, but that pain was horrible. It lasted for about 30minutes. I'm still a little sore, but I'm ok now.

(((HUGS))) BTDT and its not fun. I cringe just thinking about how that pain feels. Glad your feeling better though.

Ok, we should have posted this "don't look you may get grossed out!"

1)My dh gets what his dr. explains is a "gas bubble." The first two-three times he got it, I thought he was going to die. We took him to the dr. and he explained it is actually a gas bubble. Gas-X is the only thing that helped. I only got this once after I had dd #3 and had eating/digestion problems.

2)I felt the same way you did Tues and Wed, however I had stomach virus. Thought I was going to die, my whole body ached and I felt like I had the flu.

3)Dh and I have both had food poisoning and that is also a similar feeling. I'm like you, mine was from bad milk. And I'm so picky about our milk and milk we drink when we are somewhere.

(((Rayanne))) I hope you feel better, if not, remember to go to the dr.

P.S. we never had any gallbladder or appendicitis problems....

((Rayanne)) I am thinking gallbladder, appendicitis, if it happens again, might ought to go see doc. just to be sure. AJ

I'm glad you are feeling better. It's so scary to be in so much pain. Hopefully it doesn't happen again.

Hi! I just got out of the hospital w/kidney stones. I never have had them before, and I had similar pain. Mine would last for a couple of hours, and then go away. My dr. said they 'hide' for a while, and then when you feel pain again, they have moved. It was awful. He did a scope, and removed 2 stones(ouchie). Anyway, now when people mention 'pain anywhere near that area' -I automatically think,'KIDNEYSTONES!!' I would check w/doc if it happens again...Good Luck!!

I was also thinking stones.
I watched my 6'9", 325 pound husband scream like a little girl because of kidney stones. You would have thought he was having a baby. He felt so much better once this little stone passed.

I hope you are feeling better and that it was "just" the sour milk.

Ditto everyone else, if it happens again, check into it! I hope you're feeling better.

For some of you above, I have read medical experts who say that kidney stones and passing kidney stones is the MOST EXCRUCIATING pain anyone can have - on a scale of 1-10 it is a 20. I really sympathize with your husband, Emily.

I do too, I just like to tease him about it. One of his nurses had told me it was really painful. It was cute, he told his Mom how sorry he was if he caused her that much pain.

Earlier this summer, my ds had something similar. He had a pain in his right side just under his ribs. It only occurred at night and early in the morning. He would go back to sleep and wake up later and be fine, so it never happened when I took him to the doctor. I was frustrated cuz he said it really hurt and he cried and cried. I called the dr one night and asked if I could take him to the er (have to ask for ins. purposes) and he said if it last for another hour to go. Well, it only lasted for a 1/2 hour and he feel asleep. Took him into the dr office twice and was told it was a gas bubble. It lasted about two weeks. It only felt better if I placed my hand with a little pressure on his side. He quit drinking pop for a while, and it went away. WHEW.

Good luck- I hope you feel better for good!
