This is under Prayer Requests as well.

Hostages taken prisoner. Jack Hensley from Marietta is local for us. We do not know him or his family, we heard the story on our local news. Please only go to this site if you are feeling "strong" today.

Whether you go to the site or not, please pray for these families, the deadline was last night at midnight and we have no updates.

Thanks.

ESPECIALLY TO OUR MILITARY AND MILITARY WIVES AND FAMILIES. Thank you for fighting this kind of thing...so much gratitude for you and sadness for these men.....AJ

Audrey, I can't pull up this site.

I was able to pull it up but there was no sound. I hope that they all three are ok.

I feel for their families.

It's horrible.

It is just horrible.

There is really nothing else to say.

I am sure there will be some type of "drive by, drop off" memorial. Marietta is about 30 minutes from here. I will drop off some flowers or something and a card.

The family has requested their privacy and I will give them that. I have to admit, I would love to telephone this lady and babysit for her or make her some casseroles or do something but everything I can think of to do seems so trivial and stupid compared to the enormity of her loss. I know she is not the only one. I realize these things are happening all over the world and they all bother me but something about the Hensley family just got to me. Maybe it is because they were civilian construction workers. Maybe it is because they are parents. But there are others who are just as deserving of support and prayer.

This one really, really got me.

I am sure the Armstrongs have one as well.

Audrey, this barbaric type of murder is something that we just don't understand in our culture (as if murder can ever be understood)--that's what makes this so horrific. That, and the fact that they were civilians, trying to better the country (don't these crazy people understand that??) is also horrible. We expect soldiers to undertake risks, but not civilians. It's absolutely heart-wrenching. :(
