Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive September 2004: First chin hair!!!
By Janet on Wednesday, September 15, 2004 - 11:36 am:

AAAARRRGGHHH!!! Did you hear a scream coming from Illinois this morning? I look into the mirror to do my makeup and there's this LONG CHIN HAIR on MY chin!!! Where'd it come from??? It wasn't there when I went to bed!!! I'm only 42, for Pete's sake!!!

By Gammiejoan on Wednesday, September 15, 2004 - 12:27 pm:

LOL, Janet! This is coming from a 57 y/o, but you will definitely get used to this. Pulling out chin hairs is now a part of my daily hygiene!

By Karen~moderator on Wednesday, September 15, 2004 - 12:39 pm:

ROFL! Gammiejoan, I will NEVER get used to it. Pluck those suckers out!

By Dana on Wednesday, September 15, 2004 - 12:44 pm:

Really? Chin hair is a real thing? I thought only a few women got those.

DH now in his 40's is suffering from more nose hair. Ick. Don't you wonder why we need to go thru this?

By Katherine on Wednesday, September 15, 2004 - 12:47 pm:

Geez... I thought I was normal for having two chin hairs since I was in my 20's. LOL!

I think birth control pills makes it worse.

By Carolk on Wednesday, September 15, 2004 - 01:59 pm:

Katherine, I have three chin hairs and I'm 28. You're not alone. :) They don't show up too often and never at the same time. I'm always checking the mirror every few days. :)

By Nanaoie on Wednesday, September 15, 2004 - 02:46 pm:

Well, girls , I am right here with you.I just washed my face and saw the first one.EEWWWWWW!!Who do we blame for this?!?I am 45 and my mom has them all the time.I guess it's part of our curse. We do have to suffer to be beautiful!

By Mommyathome on Wednesday, September 15, 2004 - 03:12 pm:

LOL You ladies are funny. I haven't gotten any chin hairs yet. I actually only thought that just *some* women got them. I didn't know if was fairly common. Great....just another thing to look forward to :)

By Dawnk777 on Wednesday, September 15, 2004 - 05:15 pm:

Pulling them out??? Ouch. It just takes a swipe or two with a razor to get rid of them. I'm not yanking anything!

By Emily7 on Wednesday, September 15, 2004 - 05:21 pm:

I have had a few chin hairs since my first pregnancy at age 21. They do pop up over night & I hate it when I don't notice them right away.
I yank them out with the tweezers, it really doesn't hurt that much.

By Marcia on Wednesday, September 15, 2004 - 08:43 pm:

I wax my chin and upper lip, and have for many years. I think it has to do with my fertility issues, because I'm obviously lacking in female hormones. Oh well, it's really not a big deal at all.

By Janet on Thursday, September 16, 2004 - 10:05 am:

I've been laughing at dh for his growing ear hairs, and then yesterday when I told him my ••• story, HE laughed at ME!!! Grr..not so funny, IMHO! :)

By Janet on Thursday, September 16, 2004 - 10:05 am:

OK, just for clarification...I didn't put a curse word in my post...I don't know why it did that! I must've hit a symbol or something...Really, I didn't!

By Rayanne on Thursday, September 16, 2004 - 10:28 am:

I have one hair that grows between my cheek and my chin and I am only 25.

By Vicki on Thursday, September 16, 2004 - 10:32 am:

Janet, if you type in sobbing with out the bing on it, it will so that since those initials can stand for something else.

By Vicki on Thursday, September 16, 2004 - 10:33 am:

By Eight_Kids on Thursday, September 16, 2004 - 12:09 pm:

Okay.....I'm only 35 and I have like FOUR of them!!!!! I shave too!!

By Jewlz on Thursday, September 16, 2004 - 04:50 pm:

I refuse to think of them as chin hairs. I think of them as stray eyebrows.

By Cat on Thursday, September 16, 2004 - 05:02 pm:

Stray eyebrows! rofl

I occasionally get one or two dark hairs (not black, just darker) on my lip or chin. I used to get one in the same place about every 3-4 weeks. I'd just pluck it and look again a few weeks later. It finally stopped growing back! That was YEARS ago (like in my late teens, early 20's). Funny, a couple weeks ago I was washing my face and saw a long blond hair on my cheek. I went to brush it off and it didn't come off. So I grabbed it and it was attached! That thing was probably 2 inches long! What the heck was that??? At least it was blond! lol Oh, I use tweezers for mine.

By Karen~moderator on Thursday, September 16, 2004 - 07:16 pm:

You can also buy this roll-on hair remover to get rid of *face fuzzies* (that's what *I* call them!). I use it. I just REFUSE to leave those little suckers there!

By Mrse on Thursday, September 16, 2004 - 07:18 pm:

Oh no don't pull it out! I am not kidding I did that now my whole chin is covered, and I get long black hairs growing on my cheeks. I have to tweeze them out, and it gets embarrassing because if I forget to check it in the morning, then when you are talking to someone you see thier eyes going to your chin, I am going to look into the lazer treatment. I did electrolisis, and felt I was getting no where and it hurt so much. Just trim it back. The thing is, if you pluck it out, here and their, then if you have to leave it say to go to electrolisis or something then you really see what a problem it is, not saying you are going to turn out like me, but I sure would not want that on anyone.

By Cakekisses324 on Wednesday, September 22, 2004 - 05:13 pm:

I am 27, and have them too. I just pluck. Whats worse, is being fair skinned and having dark hair. It can be spotted easily.lol yuk!

By Truestori on Thursday, September 23, 2004 - 04:50 pm:

I don't have chin hairs but my co-worker just enlightened me that I have a little fuzz on my face! I was so embarassed...Geesh, it must be my light skin.
Karen,
I would like to try the roll-on to get rid of my peach fuzz. Do you know the name off hand? TIA
(Maybe I should change my username to Peachfuzz...LOL :))

By Bea on Thursday, September 23, 2004 - 05:01 pm:

I've had peach fuzz since I was a child. I think most people have fine hairs on their face. I also have one dark chin hair that often gets so long before I notice it, and pluck it out. Then I'm embarrassed. If plucking caused more hairs to grow, I'd have a ZZ Top beard. I've plucked this nasty thing for years.
