Records, 8 tracks, and books

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive September 2004: Records, 8 tracks, and books
By Christylee on Saturday, September 4, 2004 - 08:01 pm:

I've recently started trying to make some sense of all the boxes that I brought back from our trip to Las Vegas when we cleared out my grandpa's house. I've listed several things on Ebay but I'm not making to much of a profit really. What I'm wondering is does anyone have any ideas on places or know of anywhere that will buy records, 8 tracks, and books. I'm going to take some of the books to a used book store and I've tried pawn shops for the others but they aren't really interested.

There are lots of really rare albums and the books are about the Kennedys and I hate to just throw them out or box them up for storage. I'd like to see someone who'd appreciate it or has a collection be able to enjoy them. ANY input would be great.

Thanks!

A used record store might buy the records.

From my experience I've learned that if it's not selling on ebay, there's probably not a market for it.

Hopefully, others have better advice!

I would love to see what records you have. Can you post a link or email it to me at lisaannmcb 1969 @ yahoo. com (Without the spaces)

I'm sure a used record store would buy the records, and maybe even the 8-tracks. Believe it or not, there are some people who collect those. As for the books, if you don't sell them, you could donate them to a library or a school.

Donate them to a non profit Thrift Store, school or library and take the tax write off.

Here is a new and used record store that has been in business locally for years and years. It has a HUGE warehouse for their stuff. Make a list and contact them. They take all sorts of stuff in. They distribute world wide.
