Im so mad!

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive September 2004: Im so mad!

Before Baby Faith was born, I ordered some nursing bras off the interent..I ordered 3 of them 2 the same style and one a dift style.. I received them and they looked nice. I didnt actually try them on until after the baby got here. Anyways, 2 of them are perfectly fine. One I "try" to try on, and realized that little plastic hook(round shaped)that hooks the strap to the back of the bra was cracked. Ok, so it sat here for a week or so. I tried this thing on right after a shower, and didnt even have it on fully when I realized it was broke. My husband calls the customer service and tells them what happened, and she said "Sure send it back we will exchange it"...Ok
today I get an e-mail, saying they are refusing to give me an exchange claiming there is milk stains in both cups WHAT....??? I mean I tried it on right after a shower, I never even washed it first...I didnt have it on my body more then 2 secs when I realized it was broken and took it right off...I folded it back up and put it right back in the package...So I wrote them an e-mail back telling them Im very disappointed in their company and would NEVER refer anybody to them, and by all means send it back. They said if I didnt reply they would get rid of it in 2 weeks. It cost me 28$... To me thats alot of money for a bra...
Im so mad I could scream !

What company was it? I would actually call them & ask them for the number of the manufacturer of the bra. It would make me wonder if the bra was actually a returned to the company before they sent it to you. Is there a warranty on the product?
I really don't think nursing bra's are made very well. I went to Motherhood to get all of my bra's & within 8 months I need to get new ones.

That really bites! I've had good results with writing to manufacturers of products. I'd write them a letter explaining the problem you had with the bra, and that you sent it back to the place of purchase but they're refusing to give you a refund. Not that you're expecting a refund from the company, but you're disappointed that the product was defective and that you want them to know about it so this doesn't happen to any of their other customers. Also, throw in a few compliments, like, you were impressed with the style of the bra and the fit (whatever was actually GOOD about it)... butter them up a bit however possible. That's how I've always spun my complaint letters, and I've always gotten a thank-you letter ("Thank you for alerting us to the problem you had with our product...") and ALWAYS a certificate for another free one or at the very least a bunch of coupons for a significant amount off the purchase price ("Please accept our apologies and this free coupon" or something like that).

OH! I forgot to add, if you ever have to return another product, take some pics of it -- one of you or someone holding it up and showing the defect, one of you putting it in the box, one of you taping and labelling the box. That way you'll have proof of the condition it was in.
