Yet another cooking question

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive September 2004: Yet another cooking question
By Paulas on Thursday, September 2, 2004 - 11:47 am:

I bought some hamburger on sale the other day with the hopes to make it in to meatballs, lasagna and spaghetti sauce...freeze it...and save it for a busy day. Well, I forgot about it and so last night it HAD to go in the freezer. I was too tired so I just froze a big chunk of it.

My question is...if I thaw it and cook it...can I freeze it again?

By Rayanne on Thursday, September 2, 2004 - 11:48 am:

I think you can, but I'm not really sure.
I would though.

I have done that before and we are all still alive!! LOL

Yes, as long as you cook it first.

Cook it first and you're good to go. It's just if you thaw it and then refreeze it that you are asking for trouble.

I've done that alot when I just didn't have the "umph" to seperate and freeze the meat.

As long as you cook it you can refreeze it.
Don't you hate when you do that.
