Where do I find??

Silver furniture or accessories? I know IkEA carries stuff but the stuff we looked at doesn't seem very durable and truthfully its pretty expensive. We are redoing my daughters room and she has a silver bed, silver light fixture, curtain rods etc.. Now we need a bookshelf or dresser that fits the theme. I have thought about spray painting but that may look tacky! If you know of anywhere please post a link. TIA :)

Is it modern or contemporary? If so, look for pipe inspired architectural pieces. If it's antique or older styled, how about finding some unfinished pieces, and doing a pickled silver finish. It's rubbed in like a stain, and can be beautiful on light woods.

Thank you Bea,

She actually wants it to look sleek and modern. Pipe inspired pieces are really neat looking. I am a total country girl, but my daughter is completly opposite. Gotta love her style.

How about something we used in the 60s??? Buy several decorative cinder blocks. Find ones that are a gray color. Spray several wide boards silver, and build her a book case/dresser with silver metal baskets as drawers.

Or find a metal shelf rack and use regular baskets sprayed silver to hold her clothes etc.

You could get the aluminum wire shelves that are common in restaraunt kitchens. I don't think they are the least bit expensive and they would definitely fit the modern look she is looking for. I found some wire mesh baskets at Target that are really cute too.

Well,

I have convinced her to keep the dresser she has. Its from the 60's. Very streamline and cute! We have gotten some chrome acessories and she seems to be happy as a clam.
Thanks for all of the suggestions. :)
