Neighbors again

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive August 2004: Neighbors again

Well we took care of the dog issue withour having to call base...BUT now the kids are so mad about it they have decided to take it out on my poor dd and her friends. Yesterday dd and a friend were at the playground right next to the house and the neighbors ( 4 of the kids and about 5 of their friends) decided to start harassing my dd and her friend. Now these kids are all between ages of 12 and 15 and my dd is just 9 and her friend only 7. How childish is this? We have to share a backyard for the next 3 years and this is unacceptable. The parents like i had said before are gonae all day and i am tired of having to go out and argue with these nasty children with such horrible mouths. the leader of the bunch ( the neighbors dd) was cussing at myself and dd's friends mother who also came out to see what the problem was. They told us that they cant bleepin help if our bleepin kids have a bleepin disease. GEEZ.. and the parents...when i tell them they apologize and say they will talk to them..Well talking has not worked yet..its been weeks..how about some punishment. I want dd to stand up for herself but the last girl that did got stitches!!!!! The british police do nothing since we are military...and the mililtary police will do nothing since our base housing is not actually on the base. I refuse to have my dd stuck in the house all the time cuz she is scared of the neighbors!

If it were me, I'd go back to the British police. You may all be military, but this is happening not on the base or military property but in public places, with teens harassing children. I would also go back to the military and find out what avenues you can pursue, before someone gets really hurt. This is totally outrageous and that the parents say they can't control it is no excuse. What you have here is a teenage gang harassing two girls under the age of 10. This cannot be acceptable.

As for those parents - they raised these kids. Didn't they notice before now that they have raised a bunch of hoodlums? Rhetorical question - of course they did. They just don't care.

Well this main girl has had the police called on her several times..atleast 7 that i know of...by other parents..she tripped a 5 yr old boy and when he said he was gonna tell she gave him ablack eye with a rock!!!! These girls are horrible. The british police are supposed to be the ones we call according to base but as long as they aren't picking on british girls the police don't care about us at all. They have been fined a few times by the police for picking on british children but never for other american children. I think if i pushed enough they would move us but i am 5 months pregnant on bedrest and moving would just kill me! Plus i think they should have to leave since they are the ones causing the problems!

Could you pull out your video camera and tape YOUR kids playing when the abusive kids come around? I'm sure they wouldn't want hard evidence of their actions. There are no laws about you taping your own kids, so if the bad kids don't want to be on tape, they need to leave. And if they don't leave, then you have proof of their actions.

On bedrest, I don't know if you are close enough to even be there with a camera but maybe you could find someone to help you? Esp when the kids are playing in their own back yard.

And for the british police to be so biased in who they help is just awful. Seems you should be able to contact the US embassy or something about that. There should be someone who is able to help you. What a very sad situation.

{{{hugs}}} Have you called Family Advocacy? You can file a complaint with them about the children and they will help you from there. Make sure you are documenting these incidents, that will make it easier when you file your complaint. I'm not sure of the way they do things there but when we were in Okinawa if they got enough complaints about the family they would have them kicked off the Island. It might be worth looking into. I missed the whole thing about the dog. I'll have to look and see if I can find the post.

I am sorry you are going through this.
I would video tape it, like Dana said, & send a copy to the MP, the British police, & the parents. I would include a note explaining you are having a difficult pregnancy & do not need the extra stress. Can you file a restraining order against the little brat?
