Kids at Grandma's

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive August 2004: Kids at Grandma's
By Dawnk777 on Tuesday, August 17, 2004 - 11:42 pm:

I delivered my kids and my nephew to Grandma's house, 2.5 hours away! They are going to do a Hands On Art Camp. My mom called today to confirm their registration and my 2 kids and my nephew are going to be the only kids. They will have a blast and I can't wait to see what they make. My two daughters are 15 and 12. My nephew is 9. They were busy playing Uno Attack when I left.

Sarah wanted to watch the Women's Gymnastics today, so we got that programmed into the vcr before we left. She will watch over the weekend.

Jasmine was a happy dog when I got home. We very rarely leave her all alone. Hubby had to work at 4pm and I didn't get home until 9pm. Oh well. She survived.

Kids aren't coming back until Friday, so I get to be a childless person for 2 complete days and parts of the 3rd and 4th.

My sis took Alex to the library before she brought him to my house to get a book-on-tape (well, actually cd!). We listened to the Austere Academy by Lemony Snicket all the way to my parents. It wasn't a long enough trip to hear the whole book, though. At the end of the trip, everyone was actually paying attention to the book and we kept laughing when the author kept explaining what certain words meant!

So, I checked the card catalog on the computer when I got home. The Sheboygan copy was already checked out, so I had to put it on hold! I'm 3rd on the list. Those "unfortunate" even books must be popular! Margaret likes to get books on cd for Alex, so he can have the story read to him and follow along in the book!

Now, I type a little bit, throw the ball for JAsmine, type a little bit, throw the ball for Jasmine! LOL! Poor dog has so much energy and I did take her for a walk! Oh well.

I just wish I didn't have to work so many hours today! I would like to be home, enjoying my "me" time! Well, tomorrow, I only work 7:15-1pm, so I will have a little time with hubby and then the whole evening to myself!

After supper tonight, I fell asleep! I woke up to a dog licking my face! Now, it's time to go to bed for real. I feel like I had no evening! So much for spoiling myself. Unless, extra sleep counts as spoiling!
