Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive January 2008: Wahoo..My Secret Santa :)

Hello Yumi,
It is cool here today 59 not that bad...I think it has warmed up since I got home.
Did you get your NEW dishwasher yet?

By Wahoo on Friday, January 25, 2008 - 08:24 pm:

Well, not yet! We are going to buy a new one. It will cost some money to give it away for a recycling and even for the maintainance we have to pay about USD200. One more time I will try to ask the shopkeeper if I really need to buy the new one. It is not an easy decision for me to pay more than USD500 at once.
I hope you are soon receiving the delated Secret Santa gift.

Sorry to butt in, LOL...
I was just talking about you guys, and how interesting it was to lurk the SS boards because of the friendship you have struck up. Yumi, reading some of the things you've written about has made me realize being a mom isn't much different across the world. Yeah, there are cultural things, but really it's all the same!!

Yeah, I am one of the lucky person to be in Mom's View and matched up with Cathy in Secret Santa project. Nothing is different with being a Mom across the world, really. But whenever I lurk in the "what's for dinner?" thread, I feel we are ALIEN! LOL! Being an Alien I found my mistyping in my previous post, delated should be BELATED!! LOL LOL

Seem like we all may speak a different language but we all are the same in more ways then one...A mother is a mother is a mother no matter where we are from...we all want the best for our DSK and our DSF!!
Can't wait to get my gift I don't CARE if its late...I too have enjoyed getting to know other people here on Momsview. I enjoy chating with Yumi and learning about where she lives :)
Nice here today 65 :)
Hope you can do something with your DW...Maybe it can be fixed :) or maybe NOT :( Good luck with it!!
Maybe you could give me a dinner idea from what you cook in Japan on any given day!... I would love to get a recipe from you...Lets start easy!!
I will send you one too if you like.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend :)

Most of the Japanese dishes are made with soy sauce. And I think the ones sold in US might be a bit different from the ones we use. It is not easy to find out any recipe that would fit to American people's favor. Let me try when I hit upon something easy and nice to join in your dinner time.
Here in Japan, we eat many kids of food. I love pizza and I love Chinese foods and very often fix some for dinner. Curry and rice is our kids' favorite. I often fix sperguhetti and Udon for lunch on weekend. Tempura or Sukiyaki or Shabushabu are what we eat outside for my family.
By the way I love giving Salad dressings to my friend in US. Since they liked it, I tucked in one into the box that is coming to you soon.
I love the Meatloaf recipe that my friend in US told me several years ago that is her special recipe she is trying to tell her posterities through her daughter(may be!). Do you have any special meatloaf recipe?

Its here...ITS here.
Thank you for my package!!! The chocolate is so good. Can't wait to try the salad dressing..What can I use it on..Just lettuce or can it be put on pasta or cook meat in it. Any ideas??? how do you use it???
Thank you for the BEAUTIFUL purse...It is so perfect...I LOVE IT...I will be caring it tonight when we go play darts.
Thank you SS/Yumi

No special meatloaf recipe..I use a packet then add an egg and water very simple!!!
We love soy sauce...I have a recipe that we make that has steak, carrots, onion, green pepper and lots of soy sauce and butter in it. DSH got it from a guy that was stationed in Japan with him..He called it Yakanucka..It is so good but salty but we love it!!!
I'll be waiting and hoping that you will find a recipe for us to try..
Thank you again for my beautiful purse!!!!

I am so glad you liked the bag! None of my friend in Japan likes my products,I think it is too JAPANESE! I hope you would love its being so Japanese though. I like just making bags not to carry by myself. I hope I can have another chance to give one to anybody like you who would enjoy them.

Not to butt in, but I would love to see a photo of the bag you made!

By Wahoo on Monday, January 28, 2008 - 08:36 pm:

I am sorry I do not have any photo of it in hand. I hope Cathy can attach the photo.
