Not going to believe this.

Well dh and I went to garage sales in July, and we were coming home dropping stuff off and going back out again, one of the trips home my sister called and said their was a demolition sale up by her house, and we should go take a look, as their was hard wood flooring, we went to go see it, and dh said to the guy " how much" he said we are just asking for donations, well dh comes up with 45 dollars, I was thinking more like a hundred, but the flooring was still in the house, and we were not sure how much they would get up without wrecking. In the end dh came home with 3 truck loads of tongue and groove fir flooring, approx 1200 sq feet of it. We are going to rent a plainer take off all the old scratches and varnish. It should be eneough to do our living room, kitchen and bedroom, plus we are giving my sister 300 square feet, since she found it. Just wanted to share our lucky break, it is gong to be alot of work, have to pull out the old nails, lay the floor once it is plained, sand it, then varnish it. This is a long weekend project.

Wow! That is more than lucky, I would call that a miracle, LOL!

Even with all the hard work involved, that is such a deal!

Gosh, I feel myself being exited for you.

You may have to take some pics and share them.

Yes it is a miracle, I still don't believe it myself, and it will be alot of work, but I am so worried about the finish, the right finish for the floor will be very important. It has to be really tough to hold up to my family, so if anyone has any experience with putting varthane and stain on a real hard wood floor, and how to apply it, that would be great
