Not the Saturday I had in mind!

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive August 2004: Not the Saturday I had in mind!

Grrr! Weekends tend to be crazy here because every other Saturday is taken up with Seth's therapy but this is his off weekend so we were going to go camping in Santa Barbara with some friends. Last night, just before baths, I noticed that my youngest dd had a red lacy rash all over her torso and, when I checked, her cheeks were all red. All together now...Fifth's disease! Since the friends we were going with are pregnant, we had to cancel our plans and I have disappointed, bored and cranky kids now! The oldest two are out in the sprinkler but that isn't going to last for long and, quite frankly, I'm disappointed, bored and cranky too! Bummer!

Cori,
Put them in front of a movie and take a bath... *eg* I'm sure DH won't complain about that kid duty! (((all of you)))

Oh I have so been there. Big hugs to you all.

Grrr...now my oldest dd has the rash now and I spent all day throwing up. Crys, you're right, DH didn't mind kid duty when it saved him from the evil looks I was throwing at him when he gave me attitude the first time I asked! I'm feeling better this evening and I'm really glad that dd is off track this month. She missed too much school last year and I don't want a repeat of that this year. Thanks for the sympathy, although rereading my original post showed me I was already feeling plenty sorry for myself! Anyway, thanks again, everybody.
