Has any Moms here had the My little Pony birthday theme?? I need ideas for dd birthday, and where to find a cake. Right now it's pretty late to check into cake ordering, so I'll have to do it in the morning. But any ideas, I really would like to hear about. TIA

If your local bakery doesn't make MLP cakes, you could go with a rainbow-themed cake, as they are a big part of MLP. You could put a couple ponies on top of it. I've even seen MLP candles at party supply stores that would be perfect for this. Of course they sell the usual plates, cups, napkins, etc. too.

It cracks me up that MLP are popular again--I got several for my 6th B-day in 1987!

LOL, I agree about them being back in style, I used to LOVE MLP (I was born in 1982). I had a used to take one of my MLP toys in the bath all the time!! Ok, ideas for the party... if you are artistic you could draw ponies for each child, and have them decorate the pony, using whatever supplies you're comfortable with (crayons, markers, glitter...) Remember how they all had a little symbol or theme? Let the kids make their own ponies! You could do "pony races" have each child race to the finish on all fours, to see who is the fastest pony. As for the cake, you may be able to find edible designs. This one is out of stock, but will be in on the 31st.

I think you can put any picture on a cake. The bakers scan the picture and put the picture on the cake digital some how. I think it is really common, now. My sister in law was telling me about it. I don't think it is very expensive.

Most major grocery store bakeries have kit cakes. I was looking at ours and they now have my little pony. There are two, one is an edible image and one is a scene with little statues. Or like Feona suggested, you can take any picture into them and they can scan it and make an edible image out of it and lay that on the cake.

If you are having a small group you could get each child a stick horse and have them decorate them. Cheap hair jewels, ribbons... Then you can have races! You could use small buckets as favor holders. Fill them with stickers, hair ribbons, a small toy pony... Play pin the tail on the My Little Pony. My kids love to have scavenger hunts, hide the MLP and tell a story about how they are lost and need the childrens help to resuce them. If your house is like mine, we have more then enough to do this! Let us know what you decide to do. Maybe my daughter will decide on this theme for her birthday!

I've called several bakery's around here, most don't have it, but I'm still looking. The party is Saturday. I've gotten the MLP pkg. from Birthday Express, but no cake decoration. I will go check out our local party supply store today. Thanks everyone!
