Another laundry question..

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive July 2004: Another laundry question..
By Jackie on Saturday, July 3, 2004 - 08:46 pm:

Ok this may have been asked before...
But, finally Ive decided to go through baby clothes that were put away in the attic.. Well I noticed several of the white clothes and light colored clothes have these yellow stains on it.. I dont get it.. I know I would of NEVER packed many stained filled clothes in the attic.. Im pretty picky about doing my laundry and stains.. So how did all these stains come about? Anybody know how to get rid of them? My husband thinks I should try to run it throught the washing machine and see what happens. But I was shocked on the amount of clothes that had stains on it.. Has this happened to anybody else?

Yes, it is caused by the moisture in the attic. It gets really hot up there. If they are white clothing you can buy spray n wash bleach gel and dab it on the spots and it usually comes out with a washing.

so what if the clothes are white, but with other designs on it, would the bleach gel still work?

I had that problem, it looks like a formula stain...although they rarely had formula and I KNOW there clothes were never stained with it.

I swear by Tide, I have always used it but doing ball season this year I couldn't get the stains out of my sons white jersey (who picked white anyway?). I got to point I was dumping straight bleach on it..still didn't work. Someone told me to put it in the washer with Tide and stop the machine after it has ran for a few minutes and then let it soak over night...it worked! That big long story to tell you that may be worth a try.
