I thought reading was a requirement to get your driver's license?

I don't know if it's the warmer weather or what, but I see so many drivers that really need to pay more attention and READ STREET SIGNS!!! In the past week, I've seen cars go the wrong way down a one-way street, block intersections so no one can get through, and go well below the posted speed limit or speed through a school zone. But today takes the cake and I'm still fuming about it.
My 4 yr old goes to speech therapy twice a week. The hospital has a parking lot out front that we always try to park in. To get to the main entrance, you need to cross a road used for dropping off and picking up of patients. There are also 3 crosswalks, all with stop signs and yield to pedestrian signs. I was holding my son's hand and pushing my other son in the stroller. We had just stepped out into the street when I saw a car coming. I pulled my son back ot wait for the car to stop, but it kept going, right through the stop sign. Had I not been holding his hand, he could have been hit. Well, I watched the car park in front of the entrance and walked over to the driver and gave her a piece of my mind. I asked her if she had seen the stop sign and she said no, but she said she saw us. That didn't make me feel any better considering she NEVER SLOWED DOWN. She apologized, but I was still shaking. I don't usually confront people, but when my children's safety is in danger, you couldn't hold me back.

oh my she is lucky that all you did was say somthing to her. I would of most likely decked her (regreted that i did it in front of my kids later) ! what an idiot !
I live in a Very busy city & during race time it is UNBELIEVEABLE how everyone drives around here. the interstatea are literally at a standstill cause people do not understand how to get on & off exits or anything ! ( i live in Indianapolis IN) people do not know how to drive here it is like the race is on the interstates & streets !

People are idiots! I hate the way they drive here. We were at a 4 way stop, after stopping we started to go at the same time a huge truck decided to blow the stop. I abosolutely refuse to drive in a city bigger than mine!

Just so you know. You don't need to know how to read to take a driving test. They will give you an oral test!

Speaking of reading street signs. I saw this story on the news last night that some idiot drove the WRONG WAY on the freeway for MILES! Lots of people were calling the police and telling them, but the police nver caught up to her. That is until she hit a newlywed couple on a motorcyle killing both of them! :(

Apparently this person either didn't have a liscense or it was suspended, i'm not sure which. She had a record a mile long.

People are just such idots sometimes!

People think that if they are old enough to drive it is their right. But to many people in this world have no common sense.... And many more are just plain idiots....... I see things that scare me every day. Kids standing up. People speeding. Unsafe passing. just poor judgement. This is another case just like with parenting that there should be some kind of test you have to take and pass or take classes so that you can pass it. Age doesn't have a thing to do with ability...

Very true...........and as the saying goes......"Common sense isn't all that common".........
