You may either laugh, go ewwww or turn me into the humane society...

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive May 2004: You may either laugh, go ewwww or turn me into the humane society...
By Marg on Monday, May 3, 2004 - 01:53 pm:

This morning while getting everyone off to work and school everyone was in our bedroom.

Yes, dh and 3 girls and our cat. I finally got dh out of the house, oldest dd wanted to take a shower. She took a shower in our bathroom which left me and two smallest dd and cat still there.

SPECIAL NOTE - The other day dh swore he heard a mouse so, he slipped a glue board under his side of the bed.

Well the girls were being silly playing with the cat, and the cat started running around like a nut and he ran under the bed.

BTW, he is 9 months old and will be spayed at the end of this month.

Can you let your imagination run wild at what happened?

If you guess that the cat got the glue board stuck to his butt and tail and other male body parts, you are correct.

Guess who had to take it off of him?

I guess he won't be coming in our bedroom for a long while....

If you don't know what a glue board is, they are extremely sticky and used to catch and trap small rodents.

Not a good morning.

Oh No! Now that was a funny story!
I am picturing this in my head and laughing so hard. Sorry it was a bad morning. Thanks for the laugh tho!

POOR kitty! We used glue boards to catch the chipmunk in my van. Supposedly vegetable oil is supposed to help in removing living critters from the board. You can also fold them into a triangular shape, which would make them harder for kitty to get stuck to.

Hope the rest of the day is going better!

I needed that today! Thank you!

Poor little kitty cat.

awww, poor kitty. That is a job I sure wouldn't want, trying to get a cat off a glue board.

Wel, personally I laughed!! :) Great mental image of kitty running around with the glue trap stuck to his *parts.*

If it makes you feel better...One Sunday morning (before kids) I had just made homemade donuts in my FryDaddy in the kitchen counter. Our cat jumped up on the bar part of the counter which was about 12" higher than the actual counter. I had unplugged the FryDaddy but the oil was still very hot. My cat was walking back and forth flicking his tail and he accidentally flicked his tail right into the hot oil. I have never seen a cat move so fast!! Problem was that he is a long-haired cat with a big bushy tail. He was running and flicking hot oil all over our apt. No permanent damage done (although I had to coat his tail in cornstarch for several days to soak up all of the oil), but he made a big mess and was a sight to see. Hope you got the glue off without incident!! LOL

Oh, Pam I'm laughing so hard!

Yes, it came off without incident, but he was not happy. Maybe I should stick one to dh's butt;)

ROFL, Marg!

Pam, Oh NO! What a mess! Did your cat burn the skin on his tail??

By Ginny~moderator on Tuesday, May 4, 2004 - 10:09 am:

I'm rofl also, Pam. Marq, your cat should be very, very grateful you were using a glue trap instead of the old-fashioned snap bar trap. Imagine how that would have been!

By Cat on Tuesday, May 4, 2004 - 10:15 am:

ROFLMBO!!! Poor kitty! It could have been worse. :)

I'm about ready to give our cat away. He's driving me nuts. He's now banished to the downstairs every day because he bit my 9mo day care child yesterday. :( It's not bad, and the parents were very understanding (the dad even said he probably deserved it--he terrorizes their dog), but I'm not going to let that happen again.

Ginny, my mom uses old fashioned mouse traps on her kitchen counters and table to keep the cats off. Doesn't take them long to learn. lol :)
