A while back I posted to get an idea if heart rate had been an indicator of the sex of your child (faster for girl, slower for boy). A lot of moms found that it wasn't and some found that it was. Actually, there's no real evidence that the heart rate indicates the baby's sex.

But ... in my case it was right! I had an ultrasound today and she's a she! We are so excited!!!

I'm so glad it's a girl, because now I won't have to stop calling my son, my boy or baby boy. I can prepare him better by being able to tell him he's having a little sister. My husband is petrified, lol. He was a real ladies man, so my girl is in for some rough times when it comes to clothes and dating ... but that's way down the road.
We're going to name her Helen (for my husband's late mother) Emelia (for my mom, and sort of for me since my full name is Amelia, shortened to Ame). So we welcome (with God's grace) Helen Emelia in September.
(On another note, I've been sticking to a slightly modified weight watchers plan throughout and have gained only 8 pounds so far!) Thanks for all the good wishes.

Wow! Congratulations! We were going to name our third Helen if it was a girl, for the same reason - after my dh's late mother. Well it wa a boy, LOL It truly is a beautiful and pure name!

I like names that have a family history, or are ethnic. I thought about using Elena or Helena (more Italian, sophisticated) instead, but my husband's mom's name was plain, simple Helen. And I think it's beautiful, too.

Lucky lucky lucky!!!!!

We had our ultrasound a few days ago and I am having another boy!!

I really wanted a girl so I could have one of each-but I am happy with a boy too....I will be surrounded by men!

Luckily I have saved a lot of the cool clothes and we have tons of awesome 'boy toys'...

We have decided to call him Fernando(named after Dh's best friend in Brasil)....

Congrats! Girls are wonderful and one of the sweetest things? They love their daddies! As well as their mommies. Aren't you excited about picking out girls' clothes? There are cute boy clothes out there, but baby girls' clothes are sooooo adorable! I have a 10-month old little boy and sometimes I want to buy that cute little girl's dress and put it on him. I was in Marshalls today and I had to restrain myself. There were so many cute girl's clothes that I was dying to buy some. Especially this adorable little sundress! For the first year or two, she'll be my little doll. After that, my guess is she'll want to wear dress like her older brother.
