I am teaching my childrens church tomorrow and need an idea of a snack they can decorate for a friend. We have done the cookies so i am stumped. My lesson is the perfect friend. They will be making a chain by linking arms with others that have things in common until the whole class is linked. So i thought we could have them decorate a snack and give it to the person next to them. Anything easy other than cookies????

What about Vanilla pudding cups? They could choose add-ins like sprinkles, chocolate chips, gummy bears, etc. I don't know the age of the kids so I don't know if they are too young for this. It could be messy.

I know it's not food, but we made friendship bracelets in my SS class. I just had to take a big bag of beads and some pipe cleaners. (younger kids) They loved it!

You can make a trail mix, use m&m's, raisins, pretzels, fish crackers, etc. and give each child one of the ingredients and have each child add it to a large bowl, divide it and share. Play on the whole, friends always add to our lives to make it better, we all have something to contribute, etc.

I think i will try the trail mix. My kids are between 5 and 10 so i think that might work good. Thanks for all the suggestions! WE will be making the friendship bracelets too. we do a snack and a craft that goes with the lesson every week. last week was ressurection butterflies. That was pound cake for the wings, a candy bar for the body and then frosting and sprinkles to decorate. So they compared a catepillar in a cocoon turning to a butterfly to Jesus in his tomb.

I want my kids to come to your sunday school class....

I have been over the board of Education at our church and finding teachers who prepare and are enthusiastic about their lesson is so hard, I bet your kids love coming.

WEll i have alot of kids but if you would like to come to England each sunday, we don't mind, lol. Yes i love my children all 24 of them. Pastor asks me every Sunday if i need an assistant! NOPE!!! My kids are very good to me, they are wonderful helpers too! They love the weird things i come up with to tie the food into the lesson! With the trail mix, i paired them in groups of 2 with someone they did not know well and for each thing they found that they had in common they got a handfull of one of the items for their trail mix. At first i got alot of sighs because they wanted to be with their friends but by the end i had kids exchanging numbers with their new friends!! it was wonderful!

Kenna that's wonderful. You do sound like an excellent Sunday School teacher.
