Indoor/Outdoor Plants

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive April 2004: Indoor/Outdoor Plants
By Missymelissy on Wednesday, April 14, 2004 - 08:56 am:

I have a trellis plant stand I'd like to put outside on our porch, but I need to know what kind of plants/flowers to put on it, preferably ones that I can bring in when it's cold.

I'm not a great gardener, so, the easier they are to care for, the better. Any suggestions? Also, when I do bring them indoors, what can I spray them with so there are no bugs left in them?

TIA

I keep all my indoor plants indoors. I love the trailing black eyed susan vine...very pretty. It's an annual flower. Probably any of the green ivy indoor plants would work well on the porch in the summer, it would flow nicely over the trellis. Try surfing the web for more ideas too.

What about Jasmine? It's always so pretty and smells great!

Star jasmine is nearly impossible to kill. I should know, my dh says it's good that I'm better at keeping kids alive than plants. I bring home the most beautiful flowers and plants and just hand them over to him. The jasmine is something that I am allowed to touch and it does smell wonderful.

That's good to know! I may have to try some Jasmine myself! I love it, but I don't have the greenest thumb. I just replace my plants and people think that I do! ;)

Jasmine sounds wonderful. Smells great too. Can't beat that. Our climate is too cold to grown anything like that :(
