Has anyone ever had this. I have been doing a lot of painting and lifting furniture lately and I think this is what I have. I ended up sitting in bed with a heating pad last night since my chest was so sore. It feels like the breast bone is bruised or something. From what I've read online it looks like advil, heat pad and rest are the way to go. Hopefully it will go away soon-I've got a ton more to do!

Ahhhhh, you've injured your costochondral junction! Pain in this area is very common in young women, unfortunately. I used to work for a breast cancer radiologist and I can't tell you how many letters I transcribed discussing pain relating to the costochondral junction! I have this problem frequently and am experiencing it right now, in fact! And there's never anything I've done to bring it on, it's just a common thing that happens. I notice it a lot when I am trying to sleep and upon waking up. If I lay on my side it's much worse because it rather puts pressure on the breastbone. I hope you feel better soon!

Yes yes yes! I thought I had cancer and I was so scared to go to the doctor. I found out that Aleve every 4 hours was God sent- no asprins!

It took forever for it to go away. What happened to me was I had a throat infection that I never got cleared up so it settled there. I learned a lesson though.

I feel for you- I remember the pain.
