Laser hair removal?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive March 2004: Laser hair removal?

Ack, the unwanted signs of aging...hair growing where it's not supposed to...

anyways, either getting electrolosis done (which I have done in the past) or laser. If anyone has had it done, what can I expect and were you happy with it?

I've never had laser done, but I'm interested to hear from anyone who has. I'm losing hair where I don't want to lose it, and growing hair where I don't want to grow it!!!

My DH wants to get his hair on his head lasered off. He keeps it shaved. I'm interested to hear the responses as well.

My sister had her lip, legs, pits, bikini line and toes done LOL She is very happy with the results. She still has to shave but not as often as before and her hair is much less prickly.
I don't remember exactly what it cost, but I know it was expensive. Around $4000 for everything, I think.

Whoa! $4000 ! Thats a lot of money. I heard it was $500 for one sesson. I wonder how long a session lasts . $500 for an hour of hair removal is ok. But if it's less than that then it's way too expensive. I've also heard you need a few sessions . I'm going to look up more info. Just wondering if they get all the unwanted hair in an hour would you still need to come back for more?

I would LOVE to be able to do this. WAY to much $$$, though. I hate shaving, but I have to because the hair is so dark and grows SO fast. During the summer I have to shave every day. :( Maybe someday, when we get a money tree. lol :)

I'm still in the process of having my bikini line done. After the first few treatments, the hair will grow back softer and lighter. I think it's only like 6 treatments all together. I have one more to go, but if any hairs grow back after all of the treatments they'll touch up for free. Initial cost was $585.00 total, including all touch-ups. I go to SONA. I'm not sure where they are located nationally, I'm in Missouri. I'd like to get my legs and underarms done next. Sona is always having specials and laser hair removal is all they do.

I have had the treatments. And if the hair is blonde it doesn't work as well. The hairs absorb the light and then it does something to the root of the hair. Well if the hair is blonde it doesn't absorb the light as well.
I had the treatments but not for hair removal. They use the same treatment to treat many different things including tattoo removal. As far as price my insurance paid for it but my treatment wasn't cosmetic.. I have seen pictures of men and women with dark hair that it worked wonders on though... But it is pricey if you have to pay out of pocket. The first consult is always free.. Call and set up to go in and see how it will all work...
