Or van, rather. It came by a little while ago and all the kids are sitting at the dining room table enjoying their first ice cream treats of the year. Robin heard the music about three streets away! lol It's only about 51 degrees out, but the past two weeks have been in the 60's and we've even hit 70 a few times. Of course this past weekend it was in the high 30's with snow, but it's going back up this week. I guess spring is here! :)

We don't get the ice cream truck anymore!! We live on a culdsac and they don't come down our street. My dd had so much fun in our old neighborhood listening for him and waiting for him to come!! I wish they still came!

ugh....I HATE the ice cream truck. We had one last year that came every single night between 4-6p, right when supper was being made or eaten. Drove me NUTS.

The ice cream truck came for the first time on Saturday. It seems too early, though! :)

My kids LOVE the ice cream truck!...so does DH for that matter! We let them get something every other time or so. Sometimes using their own allowance. If it is at dinnertime or right before they save their treat for desert.
By the end of summer, just the music drives me crazy! LOL

The one we have around here is pricey. He doesn't come through that much though. Maybe once a week or so. I live out side of town.

I loved the ice cream truck when I lived in Las Vegas as a child. We moved to Japan when I was 5, and one morning at about 7 am, I was thrilled to hear the "ice cream truck" outside. My mom laughed so hard--turns out, the garbage trucks there play a tune!

LOL, Andrea! :)

When we lived in Brooklyn, it was Mr. Softee and his terribly annoying song! Now, living in the country, I am ashamed to say that I miss it. It's something my son will miss growing up.
I remember playing outside all day, and having a delicious soft cone with sprinkles. It's funny to think that something so insignificant as the ice cream truck will be an experience son will miss, and it makes me a bit sad.
I miss being able to get gelato. I used to be able to get it in Brooklyn, but I have yet to find it up here anywhere.

My neighbor won't let her DD get ice cream from the ice cream truck because she says that it is old ice cream that the stores can't sell anymore. Does anyone know if that is true or not?

By Amecmom on Wednesday, March 31, 2004 - 04:49 pm:

No, it's not true. People purchase a route and the ice cream from the company.

Awe....the ice cream truck! That brings back good memories when I was a child at my grammas house:) We don't get the ice cream truck/van here...that must be neat to watch them all enjoying their first ice cream treats!! Your post put me in a warm fuzzy mood.

Ok, we have an ice cream truck that comes in warmer weather. It always comes when we are eating dinner and drives me nuts. If it came at another time of day, I may think about taking DD out to get a treat. The music drives me crazy after hearing it for a few weeks!
