Silk flowers...how do you get the dust off them?

How do you clean silk flowers. I have some and they are awfully full of dust.

Honestly, I put them in the sink and spray them with the sink sprayer and put them on the porch to dry! I am sure there is a correct way to care for them, but this works for me!!

I think I've heard you can put them in a paper bag with rice (or salt?) and shake it. I'm sure someone else (like Bea) will know. Good luck! :)

LOL I was going to title my post. "I bet Bea can answer this one" I should have LOL!! I have heard of the paper bag way but it would ruin my silk flowers. They are stuck in a oriental type of vase. Very bushy, and lots of tiny clusters of flowers.

I know the rice in the bag method is recommended, but I personally wash mine. The rice doesn't do any more than dust them and they get sticky with airborne grease. I fill my sink with hot water and liquid detergent, swish the flowers through. Then I fill it again and rinse. I shake them outside and dry them on a towel. With yours simply swish them through the sudsy water, and spray them to rinse. Then lay the vase and flowers sideways on a towel to dry.

Thanks Bea!

This is how I clean mine but, didn't think it was the right way just the way it works for me.
