Serial killer is back in my home town :(

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive March 2004: Serial killer is back in my home town :(
By Janet on Thursday, March 25, 2004 - 10:59 am:

I just checked my home town paper on line (Wichita, Kansas) and found that the police have heard from a serial killer (BTK Strangler) who was responsible for the horrible, horrible deaths of 8 people in the 70s. The case was never solved, he was never caught, and for the last 30 years no one has heard from him. But they received a letter from him last week in which he included evidence from one of the deaths, and the police are calling it authentic. So now he's got everyone all panicky again. My family still lives there, and although I was only a kid during that time, I remember how scared everyone was. One of the killings wasn't too far from where I lived then. I hate this! :( I hope that with today's more sophisticated methods, they can get him before he kills anyone else.

Wow, that's horrible. I hope they do find him and lock him up for good. Please tell your family to be careful!

Well, if you look at the positive side of this...if he keeps commuticating with the police there is a better chance he'll be caught. It is pretty strange though for a serial killer to be dormant for 30 years.

Yeah, that's the thing. They're saying there must've been something to keep him away, because normally serial killers can't NOT kill (is that proper English?). Maybe he was in jail or something? Creepy.
