What brand of jeans do you wear???

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive March 2004: What brand of jeans do you wear???
By Kathym on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 09:45 am:

I always used to wear Guess jeans...a little pricey but I knew they would fit. They are pretty hard to find now so I am looking for another brand that I like. I like Levis 515 stretch (need that stretch!) but would like some variety.I like lowcut it hides my tummy) but not REALLY low cut.
Also does anyone else have a problem with jeans being way too long? I am almost 5 ft 6 inches and have to buy the short length sometimes so they don't drag on the ground.(Did that in junior high!)
Anyway what brand do you swear by?

By Amy~moderator on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 10:06 am:

I wear Mudd, Lei, and Ecko, strictly for the way they fit me. I like low rise, boot cut jeans, and I definitely prefer dark denim.

By Happynerdmom on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 10:09 am:

I don't really have any one brand I swear by. I tend to get designer jeans on sale. My favorite was a pair of Ann Taylor that I got on clearance for $19.99! Currently, the two pair I wear most are Bill Blass. I got one pair at TJMaxx, and the other at an upscale consignment shop. As you can see, I'm a bargain hunter! I always have to try stuff on, because all brands fit so differently. I'm short, (5'4")but it seems the designer labels are shorter, and I don't have a problem with them being too long. As a matter of fact, I had originally tried on a petite size of the Ann Taylor jeans, and they were way too short!! That was a new experience!! My sister, who is just 4'11" will only wear Victoria Secret jeans. They are $50, though. I don't like spending that much.

By Babysitbarb on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 10:14 am:

I wear the Riders because they work best for my big bootie. My oldest DD likes Mudd, and lei low rise and my youngest don't really care as long as they fit good.

By Kate on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 10:17 am:

Gap jeans, 'classic fit' style.

By Mommyathome on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 10:30 am:

Gap jeans for me too :) I like boot cut. I LOVE Lucky Brand jeans but they are usually too pricey. Sometimes I find a good pair on sale though.

By Texannie on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 10:46 am:

Gap classic fit guys jeans.

By Carolk on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 10:56 am:

I like Polo's Kelly Jean. It's low cut, I also like to hide my belly. :) They are boot cut and the inseam is 30". I am 5'4", barely, and anything longer than 30" and I'm tripping over them. For me, 29" or a 30" inseam is perfect. 28" is too short. I don't like my pant leg riding up too high and most shoes I wear have at least a 2" platform. That's how I don't trip wearing the 30". :)

I used to wear Levi, until they put stretch in everything this year. Personally, I don't really care for stretch. They just don't feel right. But when I did wear Levi jeans, I always had to buy short. Medium length was too long. Even with my platform shoes.

By Lorebunde on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 10:59 am:

I just purchased a pair of Blue Cult jeans.
They are stretching and wear low but not too low.
I did have to hem them even though I'm 5'7". They also give your butt a little lift, something in the way they made them. Who couldn't use a little help? :)

By Karen~moderator on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 11:05 am:

GAP jeans, and *Silver* and *Lucky* brand, although those are pricey. I get most of mine at GAP's online sales. And I have NEVER hadd jeans too long! LOL I'm 5'8", and I always order the Long lengths from GAP.

By Andi on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 11:25 am:

GAP or Old Navy , Classis Fit.

But now and for the next few months...Motherhood. :)

By Annie2 on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 12:36 pm:

Old Navy, short, low waist boot cut with stretch. I love them.

By Colette on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 12:39 pm:

I just bought 2 pairs of adolfo jeans at TJ Maxx. I would have bought 10 if they had different styles. They fit almost perfectly - they are to long but jeans almost always are - they are extremely flattering and I am so psyched to find some nice jeans.

By Palmbchprincess on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 12:41 pm:

I have a hard time finding my size, and the brands that fit best are Mudd and LEI. I have longer legs and a short torso, so if I do find my size, they are too short, or the next size up is long enough, but too big The Gap is the worst because I think their boot cut jeans are made for people with no hips. I HATE jean shopping!!!

By Janet on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 12:42 pm:

Wrangler for women--and NO low cut, thankyouverymuch!

By Pamt on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 02:32 pm:

I FINALLY found jeans that I like and that fit after going to literally every store in the mall. They are Bill Blass Perfect Fit Comfort Rise jeans and I got them at Penney's on sale for 19.99. Yippee!!! They are boot cut and the waist band falls just at/below the belly button. I am 5'9" and have the opposite problem. Most jeans are too short for me, but tall jeans are too long. I hate for them to drag the ground. I love Old Navy clothes, but can only wear shirts from there. Jeans and skirts might fit in the butt, but now in the waist or vice versa. I always leave the Old navy fitting room feeling like a freak of nature, so I just don't try on bottoms there anymore. :)

By Bellajoe on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 02:55 pm:

I used to love Eddie Bauer's jeans, but both the stores that were close to me closed.

Now i like Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren, they cost WAY too much but they are the ones that fit my big butt and smaller waist, so that's what i get.
Where do you buy the Mudd Brand?

By Dawnk777 on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 03:44 pm:

I can't remember the last time I bought a pair of jeans! I tend to wear navy cotton knit pants with elastic around the waist! LOL! If I did, they sure wouldn't be low-cut jeans, even though they make those for bigger women! Eww.

By Mommyathome on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 04:52 pm:

JCPenney carries MUDD jeans.

By Colette on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 05:11 pm:

Kohls carries Mudd too.

By Momtotwoangels on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 05:27 pm:

I am a country gal so it is Rockies and wrangler for me, I do have a few old navy they fit nice.

By Bea on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 05:45 pm:

Whatever fits and is on sale.

By Trina~moderator on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 07:02 pm:

Good old fashioned Levi's 550s (short) are my favorite. They fit the best and are very comfy. :)

By Truestori on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 07:50 pm:

Colette,

I just bought my first pair of Adolpho jeans and they fit awesome. I am 5'11 so I never find jeans long enough to fit...and these were absolutely perfect...(can ya tell I'm excited??LOL :) )

I also wear jeans from Old Navy because they are the only brand I have found that I can put in the dryer without any shrinkage..

By Mcrosby57 on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 10:58 pm:

I like Eddie Bauer and Land's End. I have a long rise so have always looked for pants with a long rise. Even the low rise need to be longer to cover unmentionables. These brands also carry stretch denim which is sooooo much more comfortable that regular denim. I have natural waist line stretch jeans and low rise stretch jeans.

Stori, I was just as excited, but mine are WAY to long (I am 5'2"). Aside from length, which can be taken care of, they are perfect, and I got them at TJ Maxx and paid $20 instead of $50. I am going back to a different TJ Maxx tonight to see if I can find anymore.

By Brandy on Thursday, March 25, 2004 - 06:29 am:

Oh i hate Jeans shopping i'm a shorty too 5'2" also i think that's on a good day lol.Anyways i've always went clothes shopping and come out with like 50 shirts and 2 maybe 3 pants lol ..I don't really have a certain brand as long as the fit me then i get them.

By Feona on Thursday, March 25, 2004 - 06:32 am:

I like relaxed fit levis. I also like london jeans from victoria secrets. I bought a pair of ralph lauren jeans for marshalls that were nice too.

By Feona on Thursday, March 25, 2004 - 06:35 am:

Marshalls had Adolpho and bill bass jeans for under $15.

By Jessicac1979 on Thursday, March 25, 2004 - 08:20 am:

I like levis, american eagle and lei jeans. My top pick would be levis though they have short cut with the boot cut bottoms-other jeans I have to cut the bottoms to fit, only 5'0 here!

By Karen~moderator on Thursday, March 25, 2004 - 09:18 am:

I think WalMart carries Mudd jeans too. Jen used to wear those all the time, but now she just wears Silver and Lucky brands. Thank goodness I'm not buying her jeans any more! She's incredibly hard to fit, so we used to buy whatever we could find no matter what the cost.

By Mommyathome on Thursday, March 25, 2004 - 10:29 am:

Karen, that is exactly how I was in highschool. My mom was just happy to find something that actually fit me. Sometimes it was the higher end, along with the higher price.....but that's all that would fit me right.

By Rayanne on Thursday, March 25, 2004 - 01:28 pm:

I like L.A. Blues stretch jeans. Old Navy also has good jeans.

By Fraggle on Thursday, March 25, 2004 - 01:35 pm:

My favorite jeans are my Old Navy just below waist, stretch, boot cut. They are just a little long (I'm 5'2")

By Rayanne on Thursday, March 25, 2004 - 01:39 pm:

Old Navy jeans are a little long on me too. I used to work their when they first opened in Tampa at the mall and they are supposed to be that way incase they shrink a little.

By Shellyg on Friday, March 26, 2004 - 12:02 am:

I have the worst time finding jeans that fit. I have a long 34' inseam, bit booty, small waist. My waist and booty do not match in size! I love Diesel jeans, they fit me well, but are very expensive. I also just found a pair of Calvin kleins that fit me well at COSTCO of all places.
