Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive March 2004: Cinderella's Royal Table

Ok, what the heck? LOL!

I swear, I looked last week and it said 60 days in advance. (It gave me a date in April to call) Now, today, I am looking up info. and it says 90 days in advance. So, I missed it! I just don't get this! LOL!

I guess I am just going to call the main # and see what they say.

I just can't believe the demand for this breakfast. Crazy!:)

By Bellajoe on Thursday, March 18, 2004 - 11:39 am:

what is Cinderella's Royal Table?

By Melanie on Thursday, March 18, 2004 - 11:40 am:

I will keep my fingers crossed for you!!

Cinderella's Royal Table is a character breakfast at Disney. It's one of the toughest to get priority seating for.

Sorry! I was rambling!

Here is a link with photos. (Which also says 90 days in advance! Darn!)

We had breakfast with the characters on Monday morning and you had to make reservations atleast 30 days in advance or there was a minimum 2 hour wait if you just walked in. We had reservations and it was well worth it. We got lot's of great pictures with Minnie, Pluto and Goofy. It was a buffet and the kids had so much fun. It was very pricey but I will do it again next time we go back.

Eve, you can dine at the castle whenever you want, though. In the morning just stop in and tell them what time you'd like to eat and make a reservation. Usually Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother make an appearance, but it is NOT the character breakfast. In my opinion that is highly overrated. My daughter got WAY more time with the characters just in Toontown and during chance meetings throughout the park. At character breakfasts they flit around and your child doesn't eat a thing and when the character finally comes to them they spend two seconds and are then off to the next kid. But we found having lunch at the castle to be very enjoyable. They still called us Lady and Lord and Princess and we took pics with the Fairy Godmother (who gave us fairy dust--ask for it!) and with Cinderella. We took the pics sitting on her throne, too!

Eve, they just changed the policy about Priority Seating. I think everything is 90 days now. Good luck getting your reservation. I know they are difficult to get. Gosh, thank god I have boys. I wish they had a Buzz breakfast, my boys would have loved that.

By Marg on Thursday, March 18, 2004 - 11:44 am:

:( We never did it Eve, but it looked like fun. I can't believe the waiting list!

Maybe you could be placed on a list in case people don't show up. When we went down the first time, we were put on a waiting list. However, they never called and I'm kinda glad we didn't oldest dd was 2 1/2 at the time and when we actual saw Mickey, it freaked her out;)

I know Cinderalla is a whole different thing though.

I would love to go back, youngest dd's never been there, but I think she would freak on a plane!

LOL! We didn't even try for Cinderella's Royal Table! We enjoyed a character meal at Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary. It was fun!

Boo hoo! All booked up. They said I can call everyday to see if there is a cancellation. So, everyday at 6:55am, I'll be calling. Ok, I am sounding crazy now. LOL!

I actually never thought about even doing this, since we will only be at Magic Kingdom for one day. Melanie suggested it, and now it sounds fun. LOL!

I'm sure Chef Mickey would be fun, but I have a VERY girly girl, who loves the Princesses and Mary Poppins too!

I read that you can call the morning of before you leave your hotel and see if there are cancellations. Bummer!:(

By Melanie on Thursday, March 18, 2004 - 11:56 am:

Oh I am so sorry to hear that!!! Definitely keep calling. You may get lucky!! We had friends who went to Disney a while back. It was kind of a last minute trip and they hadn't made any PS. They went to the MK one morning and on a whim went to the castle. There was an opening and they walked right in. They never expected it to happen and were thrilled that it did. They said they absolutely loved it. So it can happen!!

On your other post, I posted a link for the DIS boards. I think I read something about another Princess breakfast at Epcot? I didn't pay much attention to it because my boys don't care about any princesses. Try and do a search and see what comes up. :)

In the meantime, I'll keep my fingers crossed that there is an opening (and I'll expect pictures when you return! )

By Kathym on Thursday, March 18, 2004 - 01:20 pm:

We did the Princess Breakfast on our last trip...my girls loved it and ds got a big kiss from Cinderella. Overpriced? Sure was but so is just about everything at Disney. The Unofficial Guide to Disney World ( a great book if you are planning a Disney trip) has a section devoted to getting into the breakfast...dh took two days to get it down but we finally got reservations! I too think there is another princess fest somewhere at Epcot...worth a try. Good luck!!

By Sunny on Thursday, March 18, 2004 - 01:22 pm:

I did a quick search and the Storybook Princess breakfast in Norway (Epcot) is getting as popular. :( But, keep calling, you never know.
I also saw something about a character dinner at 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian that features Cinderella and Prince Charming. You could look into that one if all else fails. Good Luck!

By Deek on Thursday, March 18, 2004 - 01:27 pm:

OH, I hope you can work it out..my girls ( 23 and 21 now) still talk about the time they got eat dinner in Cinderella's castle..we have some great photos..I think they were 7 and 5 at the time..good luck!!

By Coopaveryben on Thursday, March 18, 2004 - 01:43 pm:

We had lunch with Pooh and friends inside the Magic Kingdom. They loved it and the food was awsome, I think it was about $18 a plate. We didn't have reservations because we went to Disney at the last moment while we were in Daytona. It was nice, I would certainly go back.

By Melissa on Thursday, March 18, 2004 - 03:19 pm:

We did the princess Breakfast in Norway, you get more of the princesses and Lexi and my niece were very impressed. Basically to get the castle on you must be on the phone at 7:00 or 8:00 60 days out ( maybe it's 90 now?) if you call at 8:05 you might as well forget it. I have read on the DIS boards that you can keep trying and might luck into a cancelation.

We took Nichole to the Cinderella castle lunch and she had a ball.

I was going to ask if you tried to reserve the dinner at the Grand Floridian, too. When we went it was still Pooh and friends, but we chose the earliest time possible and the girls had lots of time with the characters.

If you don't get it, don't worry-it is not going to ruin your vacation. There are lots of opportunities to meet characters in the park. By the way don't forget to get an autograph book. My oldest DD went when she was 3 and was very upset when she went to see snow white and she did not have a book like the rest of the kids. We had to go right in one of the stores and get one for her. It is still her favorite memento from the trip :).

By Eve on Friday, March 19, 2004 - 09:22 am:

Ok, I've pretty much decided not to get my hopes up for this breakfast. I will keep calling and if luck is on our side, then great! After 20 minutes on hold this morning, I said "This is nuts!" I'll try again another day.

Bea, DD just saw your photos and freaked! She said "OH LOOK! It's CINDERELLA!! CAN I SEE!?" LOL! Great photos, btw. It does look like fun.

I was telling myself she wouldn't care about the breakfast....Yeah right!:)

By Bea on Friday, March 19, 2004 - 05:02 pm:

That was the lunch at the castle that you sign up for as you enter the park. It wasn't hard to get a reservation. I'm not sure if the characters still do as much before you go in to the dining room, but this was wonderful. We all got to interact with the characters for about a half hour. Nichole was in seventh heaven.

By Eve on Friday, March 19, 2004 - 05:43 pm:

Update: Still no breakfast at the castle, but we did make dinner reservations at The Grand Floridian for Cinderella's Gala Feast. It's not supposed to be as grand, and the reviews are mixed for it. I'm sure it will make my DD happy though.:)

Thank you, Bea! I will check into that. I'm making my list of things to do when we hit WDW. Boy, my priorities have changed with a three year old.:)

By Fraggle on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 - 01:00 pm:

Eve, I can totally relate to how you feel, I was not even planning on going to the breakfast, but all the posters on the disboards got me thinking about it for our last trip. I called a few times, but DH would have killed me if I ran up a huge phone bill, so mostly I checked the disboards to see if there were any cancellations-some people do post if they are going to cancel so keep checking, especially after it gets closer to your date. DH finally convinced me that it wasn't worth worrying about.

I mentioned that we went to the dinner at the Grand Floridian-when you go, keep your eyes out for a little extra magic there-the night we went we happened to catch a bride boarding the glass pumpkin coach from the Grand Floridian. It was so beautiful-the coach was pulled by a team of miniature white horses. The Wedding Pavilion is just around the corner from the Grand Floridian.

DH just agreed to the dates for our trip this year, we've decided to go just after Thanksgiving so the Christmas decorations will be up. We are planning on doing the dinner at the Grand Floridian, too.

By Bea on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 - 05:34 pm:

We've gone in early December before. Look for specials during that time. Universal Studios offered two days for one admission while we were there. Disney had special shows all over the park, and free hot chocolate and cookies in MGM Grand.

By Karen~moderator on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 - 05:40 pm:

Eve, there are several Disney websites......you can print out the hours for each of the parks for the days you are going to be there and plan what you will do when.......And don't forget to use Fastpass!!!!!!!!

By Eve on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 - 07:56 pm:

Thanks, Bea. I'll be sure to be on the look out for deals and special happenings.

Karen, I guess I will have to do some research. My research has thus far been "Melanie! Oh Melanie!" LOL! You know I don't think Fastpass was in place when we were there last! It sounds like a great idea. Thanks.:)
