Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive March 2004: Hair Falling Out:(
By Rayanne on Thursday, March 18, 2004 - 11:03 am:

I just had a baby almost Four months ago and my hair keeps falling out:(. More so in the shower when I am washing my hair I find little chunks in my hand. Is this normal? Is their anything that I can do about it?

I don't know if you have seen my postings but look back in the parenting discussion board. I go to the doctor tomorrow. I have the same problem and it is a terrible thing to go through. I have had alot of support from some of the ladies. Hair loss sucks!!!!Do you have alot of hair to begin with....can you see your scalp?

P.s. it is normal to lose hair postpregnancy. I don't think it is normal if you lose so much you can actually "see" the thinning. I'm no expert but I had a baby 4months ago, and am losing (have lost) "alot" of hair!

I have thick hair, so I still have alot, but I'm worried that if it doesn't stop I will be able to see my scalp.

Mine fell out too after babies. But, it should improve. Something that's really helped my hair is Evening primrose oil. I heard about it from another board and I think it has really helped.

I just started taking that last week (EPO). I heard that was good too. I'm going to the doctor today regarding my hair. It is overly thinning....it is a strange feeling. Good luck.

My dd's hair thinned out while on some medication, and our hairstylist suggested Nioxin, which is sold in retail grocery stores, drugstores, etc., and usually in the hair products section. It's supposed to have some nutrients to strengthen the hair roots, etc...I really don't know..my dd's problem solved itself before we had a chance to get some. Good luck!
