I'm enjoying a quiet empty house. 14yodd is off shopping with friends, since school was out early today. 11yodd is at a friend's house since school let out. Hubby is working on something briefly at work (picture page runs in the newspaper tomorrow. Needed to double-check that it was okay.)

Then he is going shopping for my present. He laughed that a dog was on my list of suggestions. Don't really expect that. Anyway, Humane Society makes you wait 24 hours before you can take your animal home. I had a couple cds that I want, or giftcards for iTunes or Napster (saw them at Target the other day).

You know DH had a year to buy my present and always puts it off to the last minute! LOL! Then work get extra-crazy this week, so his time was limited. Oh well. I suppose it won't be wrapped, either. LOL! On my list, I found pictures of the cd's that I want, so he knows what they look like.

DH bought me the iWorship cd set and the Michael W. Smith cd! Yay! They are already loaded into the cd player in the car. Tomorrow, we are driving up to Door County to visit my parents. We are going to watch a little parade and then they are taking us all out to eat at a neat little restaurant. Bluefront Cafe It sounds like a neat restaurant!

My DD who was shopping today stopped at Bath and Body Works and got me a small bottle of vanilla shower gel. That is pretty cool, too!

So far, 2 cd's mentioned above and a small bottle of shower gel. I should get something from my folks tomorrow, though. DH took us all out to Applebee's tonight. He told the waiter it was my birthday, so they all came to sing for me and we got to share a small sundae.

Saw a cute toddler who reminded me so much of my oldest daughter when she was 16 months old. That's about how old she was, too!

Thanks, ladies! LOL! I had a wonderful meal at Applebee's on Friday (fajitas and a strawberry margarita topped by a Sunday and Applebee's staff singing to me! LOL!

Then yesterday, we got to spend the day with my parents! It was a quick visit. Met at 10:30am or so to see a little St. Patrick's Day parade and then my parents took us out to lunch. We spent the rest of the day hanging out at their house.

After supper, my mom realized we didn't have enough ice cream to serve 6 people, so I suggested that one of the kids and I could make a dessert and the ice cream could go with that. So, mom dug out Cooking Light cookbooks and I did some research. I finally found a dessert that fit into a 9" cake pan and that included ingredients already in my mom's house. It was snowing by their house last night, so no one really wanted to go to the store.

Emily made the dessert with my supervision and it was delicious. It was called Apple-Pecan Crumbcake. I don't have the recipe, though. I have to look through my Cooking Lights to see if I can find the recipe.

Then this morning, we had to get up early, since we needed to pack up, eat breakfast and drive home so I could get to work by 10:45. Usually my mom makes us a really cool breakfast. No time for that today. We got bagels, yogurt, bananas and juice. It was perfect, since it was fast and almost no effort to get out to eat.

So, it was a nice birthday weekend.
