Is this possible?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive February 2004: Is this possible?
By Mommyduncan on Monday, February 23, 2004 - 06:22 pm:

My dh and I are trying to come up with ways to cut back on some of our expenses. Most of this stuff we got into when I was working and making really good money. Now that I'm not working, we need to cut back on things. We both have cell phones w/ contracts that we can't get out of until next year. We have a home phone that we pay way too much for. We have thought about getting rid of the home phone and just using our cell's. The thing is we have DSL. This is one luxury that we want to keep. We don't have cable or satellite so this would be our only luxury. Can you have DSL w/o a home phone? If it's possible, we may go this route and just use our cells for all of our calling. My dh has more minutes than he knows what to do with and I do too. We both have like 1200 rollover minutes saved up on each of our plans.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

I don't think that's possible....by definition, DSL service is through your phone line, I think........

Karen is right, DSL runs through a phone line. You can switch to cable internet, which runs at or about the same speed as DSL. And, no, you don't need cable television to have cable internet. Hope that helps!
