Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive February 2004: Newlywed Game Need help ASAP!!

Okay nothing like waiting till the last minute. But our church is having a valentines party tonight and I opened my big mouth and said I would plan a newlywed game of sorts. We did this at our old church and it was always fun. I want to do about 7-10 quesitions for each sex to answer. They probably be multiple choice and some fill in the blank! If anyone can help me think of some questions I would so appreciate it! Thanks!

That sounds like fun! How about;

What's your husband/wife's favorite food?

What habit does your h/w have that drives you crazy?

What was the first movie you saw together?

the next 2 I think are from the show:

How many windows in your house/apartment?

Which direction does your home face (east, west, north, south)?

I don't know if you would want to use this one, considering it's church LOL, but:

Where is the most unusual place you've made whoopee?

Group "Newlywed" Game

Group Size

6 or more

Materials

A stack of 3x5 cards
Pens or pencils
Two copies of your questions for each team

Description

This game is similar in format to the old "Newlywed" game that used to be on TV.

Break the group into two or more teams of up to eight people each. Each team selects the one person in the group that they think they know the most about and sends them out of the room. Give the individuals who were selected the list of questions (found on the next page or make up your own) and ten 3x5 cards and a pen or pencil. Give their team members the same materials. Set a time limit, and instruct the teams to answer the questions as they think their teammate in the other room will answer for him/herself putting each answer on a separate 3x5 card with its corresponding number on the opposite side of the card. The cards should then be stacked in order, number side up, with 1 on the top and 10 on the bottom of the pile. The people who left the room should do the same, making sure to answer the questions truthfully.

Next, ask the people who left he room to return and sit up front. Send one representative from each team to join them with the cards from his/her team. Ask the first question and have the person who left the room hold up his/her card with the answer they gave, and have their team member do the same. If the answers match the team gets a point. Do this for each group, and for all the questions, and the team with the most points at the end is declared the winner.
