Skin care question

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive February 2004: Skin care question

Does anyone use a good product for dark under-eye circles? I have developed these over the past couple of years and I hate it. I feel like I have to wear foundation all the time to keep it covered-up. I want to be able to just put moisturizer on and go sometimes. I've seen several different products for the under eye circles and they are quite pricey. Just wondering if any of you have been impressed with one or the other.
*Note~It is just the skin color that is darker...there aren't bags or puffiness.

a yellow concealer stick will help. A green one makes redness go away.

St Ives makes a cucumber gel that helps
lighten them.

Dark undereye circles are a nutritinal deficiency 90% of the time(EFAs and Magnesium many times as well ). If they 're not going away for 2 years especially. Flax seed oil or flax supplements along with magnesium was very helpful to me. Dr. Sears "the Nutrition Book" gives good advice on this . I lost all my dark circles and gained a big boost to my immune system as well.
Cosmetics wise I use clinique anti gravity eye cream. It is mostly for maintainance. I give flax oil to my DS and DH as well for overall well .I remember reading in "Real Simple" magazine Lancome Vit C eye cream and Chanel precision Eye cream are excellent for dark circles but they're both too expensive for me.

I have horrible dark circles and found an affordable eye cream at a drug store (CVS, Rite-Aid), Vita-K. They also make a face cream for blotchy skin. Vitamin K is supposedly good for the skin. I'm not a vitamin or herbal guru though! It seems to help a little. I'm going to try Jody's suggestion and get some flax supplements. I'll try anything at this point!

Thanks :) I actually don't have a nutritional deficiency. I've been tested more than several times over the past year and everything comes back perfect, thank goodness.
