I'm confused...are you going somewhere for a vacation or do you just want ideas of things to do during a break from school?

By Feona on Tuesday, February 17, 2004 - 07:48 am:

Just need more ideas on what to do to keep the little tike busy.

I would just let him enjoy this break from school and relax at home with you. Just cuddle with him and read books and play with his toys. Kids need breaks, not constant running around and constant entertainment. Leave him alone for a bit, too, and let him play on his own. Let him recharge his batteries and truly chill out.

Thanks Kate. I am just looking for some new ideas. I think we do the same old things all the time. Time for some fresh ideas.

We aren't going to do all that this week. That would be silly and tiring.

When my children were that age they loved puppet shows, you could make puppets and toss a sheet over a spring loaded curtain rod in a door way and you have an instant theater. You could find somewhere that had a children's puppet show. We used to love to watch shows, ballet, symyphony, etc...they always seem to have short ones geared for little tykes. Also movies are a nice break.

Rent a fun movie and make a big deal about it. Pop some popcorn and get some snacks! Fun! My DD and I watched "My Fair Lady" yesterday and she loved it. She loves musicals just like I do. So, I'm happy to pass along that appreciation that was passed to me. :)

Have a baking day. Make some cookies or muffins. Let him decorate them. My DD loves to help me with anything. So, making dinner or folding laundry. Maybe you can make dinner for Daddy. Have fun!

What about swimming at a local YMCA or health club?
