I thought it would be neat.......

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive February 2004: I thought it would be neat.......
By Truestori on Tuesday, February 10, 2004 - 07:45 pm:

If we all posted our highs and lows for the week! I guess I will start..lol :)

HIGHS: We are going up North to visit family and it just so happens my aunt will be in town from Chicago the same days we are there...YEAH

LOWS: I sprained my knee about 3 weeks ago and it isn't getting better! I am scheduled for physical therapy. And to top it off my husband threw his back out and until yesterday was unable to move much either...poor kids haven't had the most active parents lately...LOL :)

By Yjja123 on Tuesday, February 10, 2004 - 08:03 pm:

Highs: I am down 9 pounds since I began my walking program (4 weeks ago)

Lows: I am only down 9 pounds--just kidding, though it is frustrating that the number isn't going down quicker when I am walking 3 miles a day.
OK--lows. Usually around now I am planning for our annual cruise in October. I spend months planning every excursion, buying the entire family new clothes, etc. This year we are skipping the vacation so we can pay off all our debt. I really miss all that planning that leads up to the excitement of a vacation. I told hubby today he needed to give me something to plan for because I am feeling strange not having it.
I am going to homeschool my children next year so I guess I can start planning/preparing for that.
Yvonne

High...my daugher won her division of her grade in the science fair today (4th grade). What a huge huge high, this is a child who is really struggling with self esteem, now she is instantly smart and her classmates are beign nice!

Low...i got beat really really badly in tennis last night...hmmm we had margartias after, so maybe not so low..LOL Actually it has just been a good week for me!

By Melanie on Tuesday, February 10, 2004 - 08:21 pm:

What a fun idea, Stori! :)

Highs: Ds #2 is being allowed to play baseball instead of t-ball even though he misses the cut-off for age (by two lousy days-LOL). That may not sound like much, but ds #1 is playing on the same team, so for me that means one set of practices and one weekly game to travel to-hooray!!!!!!!!!

Lows-As of right now, my niece, due two days ago, hasn't arrived yet. Okay, so that is more of a low for her mother, but this auntie (who has no nieces and no nephews) really wants to meet her!! :)

By Melissa on Tuesday, February 10, 2004 - 08:42 pm:

Highs- bought a treadmill and have used it daily-
came into some money, not a lot a few thousand.

Lows - was up 1 lb at WW tonight after all my walking this week-- very bummed- but several people told me when you first build new muscle this happens.

By Melanie on Tuesday, February 10, 2004 - 09:12 pm:

Melissa, don't be discouraged. Whenever I don't work out for a while and then I do, I can guarantee the scale will show a 2 lb increase the very next day. Every time. Drives me nuts, but I now know to expect it. :) Keep going on that walking...good for you!!!!

By Eve on Tuesday, February 10, 2004 - 09:27 pm:

Highs: Eating better; not dieting and cranky. Exercising everyday, and feeling all around healthier.

Lows: One year anniversary of my step father's death. Also, DD not feeling well this week.:(

By Luvn29 on Tuesday, February 10, 2004 - 10:16 pm:

Highs: My little girl got her first Valentine from a boy and was soooo excited.

Lows: Found out my insurance will not pay for any more very expensive treatments (IVIG transfusions) that are the only thing that help this autoimmune disease I have. Very bummed about that, because these treatments totally give me an almost reprieve from a lot of my symptoms.... :(

By Dawnk777 on Tuesday, February 10, 2004 - 10:34 pm:

High -- That my dog has gotten much better. We weren't sure she would for a few days.

And that my 11 yo DD was nominated for PACE(Program for Academic and Creative Extension - gifted and talented program) in language arts. She started the testing today and has to bring in three examples of her writing.

Low -- that we thought we might have to put Honey down and I'm getting sick of cold weather and wish it would be spring soon!

:)The lollipops I made for my ds's Valentines turned out perfect.
:)I am having a great week, in general, and I am not stressed out because I quit my job and my new job doesn't start until the first of March so I have a few weeks to do whatever I want to do.

Texannie, I know how you feel!

Sue3, could you post some of your dds snowglobes, I have a very tiny collection.

You'll laugh at this, back in 90, dh and I went to Florida, he bought me the cutest angel minnie snowglobe. He had UPS ship and pack it home so we wouldn't break it on the flight home. It was broken when it got there:( Yes, it was insured but the thought.

Low: My MIL has been visiting us from Korea (she's been here 3 months and 3 more to go). She is an absolute nightmare and the most selfish person I have ever known.. doesn't care about her husband, her kids or even her grandbabies. Very demanding and constantly asking us to buy her things ... like a $1000 St. John suit....It's been a 3 month low and no near end in sight.
On top of it, my dh, has been on travel the last month and 2 more to go. Comes home only on the weekend.

High: Looking at my beautiful adoreable two boys every day. (gets me through this tough time). My one year started walking and climbing up and down the stairs and babbling... sooo sooo adoreable!

Meredith, please give your stepsister my sympathy. Our house just burned down in 2 months ago, and I know how devastating it is. Was anyone hurt?

By Mommyof4 on Thursday, February 12, 2004 - 03:59 pm:

High: Dh should be receiving another bonus check soon that should go a long way on paying for our sons adoption.

Low: we are still waiting for INS approval before we can go any farther in processing our dossier for adoption.
