Help!!! Lipstick on carpet!

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive February 2004: Help!!! Lipstick on carpet!
By Fionadeassis on Monday, February 9, 2004 - 04:20 pm:

My son wanted to be a clown with a red nose so I put lipstick on him.He just did a faceplant on the carpet and left a big splotch of lipstick on it. I used a bit of paper towel to get most of it off. Then I got a damp cloth and tried to rub the rest out. You guessed it-I rubbed it well in. Now I have to get it out fast before dh gets home from work(he often accuses me of being irresponsible when it comes to the things I let Eliah do). I don't want to prove him right again!

hydrogen peroxide will take it out. I used it to get out black coffee and wine from my carpet. Just pour a little on the stain and blot, don't rub. Repeat if necessary.

I think when it happened to us we used rubbing alcohol and blotted it.

Yikes! I don't have any different suggestions, but I hope you got it out!!

Hydrogen peroxide won't bleach it?

By Texannie on Tuesday, February 10, 2004 - 08:21 am:

No, it doesn't. My dh had red wine bottles break open on the floor of his car (dark blue carpet) and it got it up perfectly, with no bleaching. It's the only spot remover I use.
