Ice

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive February 2004: Ice
By Newbabysarah on Friday, February 6, 2004 - 11:21 am:

Well, last night I was on my walkway towards the driveway and I fell down on my butt! My mom was visiting and I was trying to help her to her car because of the ice and I was the one to fall. She started laughing and that made me laugh but I decided not to go anywhere today because I don't want to fall again and hurt Sarah. Does anyone else have ice all over their driveway?

I live in North Carolina, and there was ice on my driveway this morning. My dil almost fell getting her ds out of the car.

I know Marg does! She fell yesterday.
I have fell on my butt before and it really knocks the wind out of you. My DH fell on the ice at work yesterday. Our driveway is gravel, which really helps with the ice!

Tracie, Robin's right! My driveway is like a downhill icerink:( We have ice everywhere today and I hope it melts before our electric goes out.

My joint in my hip is inflamed and I fell yesterday on the left thigh (on the side). I am black and blue from my hip to my knee, oh well, I'm ready to move ladies to Key West!

Robin, ours is gravel too! That's how bad the ice is. It's terrible!!!

Marg, can I move with you? :)

We have ice, AGAIN, and of course the kids are off again as well. I'm at work on break, waiting for all my patients that will need therapy for ice injuries...

I know how you feel Kelly. Dh and dks were off school 3 days last week and 2 days this week. I'm ready to move Tracie, it's Key West or Bora Bora, I'm trying to decide, lol!

No ice at this point. Just wet. It snowed 6-7 inches yesterday, then hubby snowblowed this morning. Then the sun came out and melted everything quite nicely. It might be icy tonight, though! LOL!

I dont' know how you guys are doing on the mountain, Marg, but Hagerstown in finally starting to melt some. You can actually see roof tops and gutters again. There is some hope as I don't think they are expecting any bad weather at all this week.

Keep your fingers crossed.

Be careful on the ice... Oldest DD's friend fell on Ice last Sunday and waked her head on the ground. They shut her life support off on Thursday. She was only 14 years old. I was always afraid of breaking something in a fall never ever did I think about dying. DD is all tore up over the loss of her friend, this is her first loss of someone her own age she was close too. Breaks my heart. All you ladies with ice. Be very very careful.

Oh Bobbie, I am so sorry. I tripped over a kick ball at the age of 10. We were in gym class on black top (can't spell the macadem word). I trip over the ball and fell had a fractured skull. In the hospital for almost two weeks. They said I would have died but I bled through the ear which released the pressure otherwise they wouldn't have been able to do a thing.

Mom was very protective after that. I don't like kids playing on blacktop.

We had some major rain last week which washed away MOST of the snow. But since our landlord decided not to have a freakin plow person come through the parking lot and clean our sidewalks..every single person is walking on Ice..literally. I harly go to walk in this one area to the front of the building but my mother was coming to be me and ds up. Lets just say we fell instantly and slid down a hill into a puddle of water. My son laughed the whole time cause I was going ahhhhh and he just thought it was hilarious. If it wasnt for him I would have flipped on teh landlord on the spot. I'm still so sore today. We and other neighbors have left millions of message and nothing is getting done. I'm moving out in 2 weeks anyways! But he'll still hear me out until then
