Tired and worn out

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive February 2004: Tired and worn out
By Insaneusmcwife on Monday, February 2, 2004 - 11:13 pm:

Dd and the truck are both sick. And they picked today to consume all my time. Dd was up all night last night. I don't think she slept at all. Around dinner time I could start to smell the step in her breath. She seemed to not be able to get enough to drink and she had a fever. I gave her some tylenol and probably 3 large sports bottles of water during the night. About 3 am I called the ER and was told that I could bring her in but it would be a long wait as they were extremely busy. I decided that she wasn't dying so I waited till 7 a.m. when central appointments opened. They made me an appointment for 1O:40. I have to be to work at 9 a.m. Rewind to 7:30 a.m., my dad whom I talked to yesterday said he would not be able to come out and look at the truck until Wednessday (it has a leak in the rear break and an oil leak and it shakes and makes a real loud lawn mower sound)calls me and says he is at the gate and needs to be signed in, what?????? O.K. I have had absolutly no sleep, and I'm trying desperately to figure out where Monday and Tuesday went cause I don't remember them. I go down there in my p.j.s with my sick dd and and the idiot lcpl tells me, opps my bad you didn't need to sign him in we didn't realize your husband was a SSGT. GRRRRR!!!!!!! Ok, so dad starts working on truck, I take ds to school and dd to the doctors. Doctor confirms my suspision, strep throat. I get home and dad tells me that there is more involved in the brakes/rear cylinder thing than he thought and we need to take it to the shop. So I start calling around. after lots of phone calls I decide to take it on base. $240. Ouch! I returned the parts to the auto part store cause the base won't use my parts. While I'm there the guy tells me that if I take it across the street from them its only going to be $140 since I already have the parts (a whole $30 in parts). So I called the garage and luckily they hadn't started working on it. I had to go back and pick up my truck and take it to the new shop. Well by then its 4:45 and I have to make dinner. Dad left after dinner and I now don't have a vehicle so I will be walking ds to school then myself to work tomorrow. That is if I still have a job, I called in and I have a dr's note but who knows I have only been there 1 week and already calling out. Oh well, my kids come first. It is now 8:00 and I want to go to bed but dd who slept all day is now up and wants to stay up, so now here we are. Well if you made it this far thanks for listening to me ramble, I needed someone to share my day with.

Sorry to hear you had a bad day, I would be worn out to if I had to do all that. I am not stranger to vehicle problems, but glad to hear you could get a break, on the cost of repairing the truck, that was one good thing. Hopefully they will have it working for you, tommorrow.
Have a good sleep.

So sorry Kristie, I would offer to take Josh to and from school except Steve is putting a new exhaust on the car so its not very functionable right now. I can watch him after school if you need since im right there or even walk him home if you'd like. Let me know if you need me but in the meantime....((((HUGS))))!!!!

I got my truck back but it still needs some work on it. Dd is feeling a lot better. Thank You all for your kindness. Sometimes I don't know how I did it before I found this board.

Melissa- Let me know when you need help moving.
