Lima Beans

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive February 2004: Lima Beans

Ok I hate them just as much as any other "green" veggie except brocili(sp?). But those are dh favorite, so I like to make things more interesting, but I cant decide what types of dish to do with this, so that I dont taste them. Like with the tuna casserole I put corn and peas. And I'll eat the peas, but not with lima beans.

Anyone have suggestions on a dish. I think BHG only had a mexican dish, which gave me major heart burn..lol. it would also help cause DS would eat them as well. TIA!!!!!!

Ick, I don't like lima beans either. It's not so much the taste, but the texture! Too pasty for me. That is one of the very few veggies that I don't like. I love most all others! So, no suggestions here.

I can eat the lima beans that are in mixed veggies, but no one here would eat a lima bean dish! I can't help you too much.

I'm far more happy that my younger daughter decided kidney beans in chili aren't going to kill her and she eats them now.

I wouldn't go out of my way to eat lima beans.

Funny story about lima beans. I have always hated them, but though my (then) husband loved them, so I served them once a week. As we were sorting out a number of things after we had been separated for a while, the topic of lima beans somehow came up. He said he hated them but ate them because he thought I liked them - I, of course, said I served them because I thought he liked them. And none of our poor sons, who suffered through many years of lima beans, like them.

But, I do find the baby lima beans tolerable.
