GO PATS!!

By Paulas on Sunday, February 1, 2004 - 10:35 am:

I was listening to the radio yesterday and heard that Super Bowl Sunday comes in second (behind Thanksgiving) in terms of food consumption in one day. It is also the day that has the highest rate of wife abuse. Interesting.

I don't watch football...I can't wait until Survivor.

By Jackie on Sunday, February 1, 2004 - 10:48 am:

Paula
Thats exactly what Im thinking. I dont watch football. So the sooner the Superball is over, then Survivor will be on. LOL

By Melanie on Sunday, February 1, 2004 - 10:52 am:

Oh Jackie, bite your tongue! LOL.

I'm with you, Trina...

GO PATS!!!!

By Dawnk777 on Sunday, February 1, 2004 - 10:55 am:

Wish the Packers were in it. Hubby will be at work. The rest of us don't care. So, it won't be any different from any other Sunday evening. No treats planned or anything.

Used to go to a friends house and watch it even if the Packers weren't on, but she does a Teen program at her church on Sunday nights, so we don't do it anymore.

By Colette on Sunday, February 1, 2004 - 11:39 am:

We don't watch it either, but dh is psyched it's superbowl sunday and the Pats are playing because that means NO LIFT LINES! dh and ds just left for 1/2 day of snowboarding.

By Bellajoe on Sunday, February 1, 2004 - 11:44 am:

I'm with Paula and Jackie, hope it's over quick so Survivor All-Stars can be on!!

I didn't even know who was playing in the Super Bowl till this morning LOL!

Even though we don't care about the game, we will probably watch...for the commercials. My dh said he may get some wings and chips and salsa, just because it is Super Bowl Sunday and all.

By Trina~moderator on Sunday, February 1, 2004 - 11:55 am:

I'm not a football fan myself, but DH and DS are. No special food or plans, but they'll be watching the game. I'll let DS (7) watch until half time and then he's off to bed. I'm sure he'll be up later claiming the need to go to the bathroom just so he can check the score. LOL!

I WILL be watching Aerosmith during the Pregame show. :)

By Mommyathome on Sunday, February 1, 2004 - 12:56 pm:

Dawn, we were hoping for the Packers as well! DH bought a bunch of food for the superbowl...which will just be us and the kids LOL. The kids are excited for all the fun food though. I'll probably work on my scrapbooking or something while I *watch* it.

I WILL be watching survivor though!

By Fraggle on Sunday, February 1, 2004 - 03:57 pm:

I'll be watching and cheering for the Patriots(and for the commercials). DH is away so it is just me and the girls. They thought we were going to be watching baseball-obviously we don't watch a lot of sports around here. The only time DH watches sports is when he is making sauce on a Sunday(once a month, if that), the Superbowl, or the World Series. I bought a bunch of snacks for "dinner" that the girls asked for-so they are excited about that, too.

By Gammiejoan on Sunday, February 1, 2004 - 04:06 pm:

My dh will be watching and pulling for the Panthers. I may watch some, but I will probably spend more time reading and playing around on the computer.

By Annie2 on Sunday, February 1, 2004 - 05:58 pm:

Dh loves football. So superbowl sunday is big in our house. We watch the game with friends and family. We have a nice spread with beer and wine. I watch, too, and celebrate the end of football season. Yeah! I get my dh back on weekends!

SURVIVOR !!!!!!! SURVIVOR !!!!!!!!
We have already bought popcorn and lots of goodies for tonight. I can't wait to see Rupert (my fave). I am so glad that my hubby doesn't care about the superbowl. He just drives me batty with soccer and baseball. Can't wait till my son is older because he is already showing signs of being a sports junkie. We will be needing another tv at that point!

Fiona-the new girl here.

OK, I'm not happy. Just finished watching the half time show with my 7 yr. old DS. Justin Timberlake ripped off one side of Janet Jackson's bustier and her breast came flying out! She had on a pastie, but COME ON!! TOTALLY INAPPROPRIATE for PRIME TIME TV!! DS didn't seem to notice but I'm ticked!

By Colette on Monday, February 2, 2004 - 05:48 am:

I thought it was a nipple ring. Completely inappropriate but aside from that, the game itself was pretty exciting and I wasn't planning on watching it because I really hate football.

By Christylee on Monday, February 2, 2004 - 10:38 am:

Living here in Houston, the Super Bowl is all we've been hearing about for MONTHS now, lol... This last week has been insane, traffic has been horrible in my area of town. That aside it's been pretty exciting hearing about all the celebrities Madonna was at Starbucks, Matthew Perry, Brad Pitt, and Jennifer were at the Galleria among many others. I'd died to have run into any of them...

I did end up at a Super Bowl party and I think this was the first actual game I watched because it was so close and both teams were really good. I don't usually care much for football at all but that was a good game!

The NFL has already said that Houston would definatly be hosting another superbowl in the future and I'll probably try to hit a few of the parties and things since DS will be older. I never dreamed that having the superbowl in your town was such a big deal.

oh and my 2 cents on the Justin/Janet thing... Totally inappropriate and I don't care what they say very planned.
