What's your favorite crockpot recipe or do you just like to throw things in?

Do you have a large or small crockpot? I went to that crockpot website (rival) I believe and wow they had a crockpot for $99, I have a cheapy maybe $10 or $15 one from Walmart. If you have a larger one do you like it?

Can't you tell I've been in the kitchen for 4 or 5 days? lol, maybe they'll go back tomorrow.

I have a large one. It is by Rival and roasts along with being a crock pot. I love it. I have roasted a turkey in it and used it for various crock pot recipes.

Just made this one from my Fix It and Forget It cookbook:

Cranberry chicken

3-4 pounds of chicken pieces (I used boneless skinless chicken breasts)
1 16-oz can whole-berry cranberry sauce
1 cup barbeque sauce
1/2 cup celery
1/2 cup onion

Place ingredients in crockpot and cook for 6-7 hours on low or 4 hours on high.

This was sooo yummy. We ate it over rice.

My crockpot is a Rival, too and has a removable crock. It is big enough for me to make a double recipe of sweet/sour chicken.

Recipe later. No time to type it now.

I love my crockpots!! I have TWO!! A big oval one and a big round one. I use them at least 3 times a week.

Here are some of my recipes. I am a southern cook so there are no real amounts.

1Pork Roast
1 package Lipton onion soup mix
1 small jar unsweetened applesauce
Cover the roast in the soup mix, place in crockpot fat side up, pour applesauce all over. Cook on low all day.
Makes a great gravy.

Pulled Pork
1 pork roast
barbecue sauce
Cook on low all day, shred pork and serve over buns. (can do with any meat)

Mexican chicken
4-5 boneless chicken breasts
1 can rotel tomatoes
1 can black beans
cook all day on low, shred chicken and serve with tortillas.

I clean out the fridge of all the leftovers and extra veggies and make "dump soup"..throw it all in with some veggie broth and cook all day. My kids will eat almost any veggie in a soup!

Pot Roast
I do it lots of different ways, with onion soup mix, with a jar of gravy.

I have a shrimp creole recipe that is just incredible and great for company too.

I also have 2 crockpots, this past christmas, we had turkey dinner at our house, so dh and I cooked everything in advance, and put it in the crockpot to get warm, and had all our pots and pans washed and put away, before company came, table was set ready to go, it was so nice, to have all this done in advance! More time to visit with company. I really did not seem as hectic as it usually is when you are preparing the meal, mashing poatoes, doing up the carrot and turnip, etc... Only thing to do, was slice the turkey and make gravy.

I am doing Christmas at my home next year, and I saw a recipe where you could cook you turkey ahead, then about 4 hours before serving put it in the crockpot with a can of broth and a cup of butter on low...sounded delish!

I also have the fix it and forget it cookbook.
I love it.
Yesterday I made chili in it.
Our family favorite is the easy chicken and dressing.

5 Chicken breasts
2 stove top stuffing (or home made )
2 cans cream of chicken soup.

lay chicken breasts on bottom of crock pot
pour cream of chicken soup over.
lay stuffing on top.
mix 1 cup of hot water with the seasoning packet
pour on top of stuffing.
cover and cook on high 4-6 hours.
This is so good.

I have one and I always think I should use it more than I do. It is so nice to start it in the morning and not have to think about dinner again! I should get one of the fix it and forget it cook books. Do they have "normal" things in it or things with all kinds of crazy ingredients?

Fix It and Forget It has normal ingredients.

I have 3 crockpots. One really large one, and two smaller, average sized ones. I used the BIG one yesterday and made a huge pot of Spicy Chicken Soup.

My favorite recipe still, is Andi's Crockpot Taco Chicken! a few chicken breasts, a can of tomatoes(I used spicy ones) juice and all, plus one can of water, a package of taco seasoning mix. Throw it all together and let it cook all day. It shreds nicely and is great used in other recipes as well, like enchiladas or any casserole.:)

Another favorite is pork sandwiches. Buy a pork roast (Either center cut, more white meat, or butt, for more tender meat) Rub with brown sugar, toss into crockpot, pour a little apple juice to cover bottom of pot, top with a little KCMasterpiece. Cook all day until it starts to fall apart. When that happens, shred with a fork and add the rest of the bottle of KCMasterpiece, and add more apple juice to taste. Serve on warm buns...YUMMY! It even freezes really well.

I have one. Don't use it much. I should get it out and use it more. I have the Fix It and Forget It cookbook, and actually pulled it out the other day and looked at it, but didn't make anything. Maybe I should try some of these recipes everyone's posting. :)

I have 3. I have a small one that I use for sauces, a large round one that I only use if I need 2 large ones (for parties) and a large oval one that I use for everything. It even has a removable divider in it, so I can cook 2 things at once.
