Im not sure if you all remember but, my DB and DSIl adopted a baby girl from China 2 months ago? She is 14 months old. They have been married for 17 years and have not been able to have children of their own. We'll that has all changed. They called us all this evening and they are 6-7 weeks pregnant. They are in shock and so are are we. We are all just on cloud nine about this and have said that this must have been Gods plan. They were just trying to decide wether to start papers on another adoption from China. It's a 1 1/2 - 2 year process. They will put this thought on hold for a while but they said they may still adopt again after this one is born but, they will just have to wait and see.

That is awesome, the same thing happened to a friend of mine. Together since 7th grade, married right after high school, wanted children, 12 years later and THOUSANDS of dollars of invitro they adopted a new born baby boy. She found out she was pregnant a few days later. They are thrilled, baby should be here soon. Congratulations to you Auntie!

I know of so many couples who have had babies soon after finally adopting. It's as if when they stop trying so hard, it happens.

That's wonderful news!!! Congrats to all!!
I got pregnant 14 months after Nicole joined the family. Meghan was born, and when she was 2.5 we adopted again. I truly believe that the kids who are meant to be ours will be. I'm sure they're very thankful they were never able to get pregnant before now, because if they were, they wouldn't have their sweet little girl.
Life is good. :o)

I also know a couple who adopted a baby and conceived shortly after.
Yeah! That is great news :)

We were one of those (I'm sure we are in the minority) couples who became pg after adopting as well. I completely believe that we did not get pg before we adopted because if we had then we would not have adopted at that time and our daughter was meant to be a part of our family. How wonderful for your db and sil to get to experience becoming parents through both adoption and birth!!

I know three women that this happend too. I was in a womans group through a church and three of the ladies in the group had tried for years to have children. The adopted and then gave birth to their "own". (in " because all of the children are theirs). One of the ladies, Adopted an child through a state agency, then they adopted a second from China and then turned around and got pregnant. They had tried for almost 15 years before the first adoption and had no results from medication and surgeries. They adopted DS and four years later adopted DD and then three years later found out she was PG. And she had given up on child birth because she was 39 and thought her life was full. Life doesn't work by our plans he works by His.

Congratulations to you DB and SIL. Now they will have two very special babies. One they traveled far to have and one that was a extra special suprise...

Thank you so very much! I woke this morning and wondered if I was dreaming and realized it was still real. They had made the comment that they were glad it didn't happen before this because then they wouldn't have gotten our wonderful Jala!
We all joked about this happening but, never in a life time thought it would. Life has been good for our family this past year and we've also had some disappointments, like my younger DB and DSIL are still trying and they haven't had any luck. They've been through fertility, Invetro and lots of other stuff and no luck yet. This sure will let them know there's still hope.

I forgot to tell you my DB just turned 40 in August and she will be 39 in August before the baby is born. So people should never think that after a certain age that it's can't happen.

Congratulations to your db and sil! That is wonderful!

My mil and fil tried for 15 years to have a baby without any luck so they decided to adopt. The same week they were notified that there was a baby for them they found out that they were pregnant with my dh. My mil was 38 when dh was born.
