Karen and Pam: New Orleans ?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive January 2004: Karen and Pam: New Orleans ?

I just came across an ad in my new Bon Appetit mag about the Delta Queen Steamboat vacation. Have you or anyone you know ever been on this? It says you can be on the boat for a four day cruise and then spend three night in a NO hotel.
Just curious as an idea for my dh and I this summer.

Bump!

Thanks, Amy. That was sweet.
After all you and your family have been through in the past weeks, I am thrilled you could be here to bump me! :) I'm so happy to know your family is safe and sound.

Awww, Annie, thanks so much. :)
BTW, I lived 5 minutes away from New Orleans until I was 22. I have heard of the Delta Steamboat you are talking about. However, I have never been, nor do I know anyone who has. Sorry :(
Hopefully Karen or my mom can be of help.

Annie, I don't know anyone personally who has been on it. We just booked a cruise for our 5th anniversary, and the agent actually tried to talk us into that. Not at all what we had in mind, considering we live one block from the Mississippi River. LOL From what I know this cruise goes up and down the Mississippi River, to what point, I have no idea. The cruise ship terminal is downtown New Orleans, so I imagine the 3 nights would be downtown or in the French Quarter.

Thanks, Karen. We have decided against it. We are going to take a Disney Cruise with the kids next fall or spring of 2005. I think that will work better for everyone.
The ad sure caught my eye though! What a beautiful boat!

I can pretty much guarantee you will enjoy the Disney cruise MUCH more!

We just booked an 11 night Eastern Caribbean for the week after Thanksgiving.
