Another seatbelt reminder

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive January 2004: Another seatbelt reminder

Bet you thought this would be Trina huh? :) I usually don't post seatbelt reminders, but we always wear seatbelts. Just wanted to share a story that happened last night, a little too close for comfort.

My DH is a delivery driver. He delivers to the same businesses daily, so he gets to know the customers. One lady that he delivers to left last Tuesday (a week ago) for Hawaii. She, her husband and her brother and brothers wife were all going together. Her mom was staying with her kids, and her brothers wife's mom was stayin with their kids.

Well, last night the SIL's mom was driving the kids somewhere. She was driving down the rode, and a car pulled out from a stop sign and hit her car. It spun her car around and into the other lane, where another car going full speed slammed into the grandmas car. None of the kids were wearing seatbelts. They were all thrown out of the car. NONE of the kids were killed. Very lucky. Just bruised up real good. The grandma was killed on impact. Can you imagine how that phone call would go from here to Hawaii with such horrible news. This could have been so so so much worse. Never take a chance and drive without your kids properly restrained. I'm sure the grandma felt like they weren't going that far, and that she would be extra careful. We live in a rural area, so traffic isn't a big deal. This just shows that even if you are the most careful driver....you just never know. It's the other drivers we really have to watch out for.

Hey, why would they think this post would be mine?! LOL! *EG* text description

Those kids are VERY lucky to be alive!! Everyone should be properly restrained EACH and EVERY trip because you never know when an accident will occur. Sorry to hear about the Grandmother. What a terrible loss.
