Puppy comes tomorrow

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive January 2004: Puppy comes tomorrow
By Missy3 on Tuesday, January 13, 2004 - 07:12 am:

As previously posted, we are getting a puppy. She is being shipped tomorrow via plane from Tenn. MIL thinks this is cruel to put a puppy on a plane.

I am so excited for the arrival. Have looked up much info on dogscouts.com. Kids are excited as well. We have narrowed the name away from ANGEL to KODA (from brother bear) does it sound too boyish? I have a b/g name and so does my DD, so it does not bother me at all.

Any other advice. I got eukanuba food and biscuits, leashes, crate, etc.

More nervous than bringing 2nd and 3rd baby home ROFL!!!

So excited for you! It is like bringing a baby home isn't it!

My adopted dog, Duke (he was 3 when we got him ~ Sheltie) was from Kansas. That's what his papers say. The woman we got him said he came in on a plane. Kind of an interesting story to tell your kids, it just makes them special:)

Good luck and remember to tell us all about her and send pictures if you can.

Get some sleep tonight! The first few nights are tough, it is just like having a baby!

Missy,
I missed the last post about what type of dog you are bringing home..How exciting, I love puppies.

Just a sidenote, If it is a large breed dog be careful with the Eukanuba. It contains alot of protein which in turn makes your puppy grow really fast and it can cause dysplesia of the hips etc..I had this experience with our Lab (he was 4 months old)and was told by his orthopedic doctor that the food contributed to this along with genetics.

Oh how exciting!!! I hope you can post some picture when she arrives. So, do you get to pick her up at the airport and everything?? That sounds so cool!
