Frustrated...cant find a job!

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive February 2004: Frustrated...cant find a job!
By Anonymous on Friday, January 9, 2004 - 06:35 pm:

Last July I lost my job since they closed our entired marketing/sales team. Now I'm ready to go back to work, really only part time cause I would still like to spend time with my ds. I cant find a job anywhere. Unemployment rate has gone up another 11% from what I heard.

I'm frustrated cause I have a degree and good deal of experience and have applied for at least 6 jobs every day. There are jobs posted that are exactly of what I did in previous jobs. And still not ONE phone call. This has been going on at least 3.5 weeks and I just hoped to have at least gotten one phone call. I've heard a lot of articles and reports on television stating no one is really hiring, but why would they post jobs??

I really dont want to be a cashier somewhere or work in the mall. I just recieved my Bachelors and I worked so hard for it. I am even rethinking going for my Master cause I start in April for that.

Ugh. Ok. I feel better for venting. DH says I need to be patient but I really thought I would have at least gotten one phone call by now.

{{{HUGS}}} It has only been 3 weeks. Hang in there. When the right job comes along everything will work out. :)

I hope things have worked out by now. I was a nanny for 12 years, making decent money in S. Florida. My husband and I, along with his 12 year old son moved to Oregon last year. No job market here for me, or anyone else for that matter, and my husband is temporarily disabled (until he has another surgery). I needed to work at home and be able to support the family. I found it, finally. If you want more details, let me know. Good Luck! :) nicoleanddave@hotmail.com
