The Sweetest Dreams

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive January 2004: The Sweetest Dreams
By Bellajoe on Friday, January 9, 2004 - 02:36 pm:

This morning my 3 year old, Joey woke up and was crying for me. So i went into his room and he kept crying and saying something that i didn't understand. Finally i figured out that he was saying "i want my angel to come back". Apparently he had a dream that an angel was in his room and was talking to him. He said that she looked like me, and was holding a baby. She told him that she lived in his house. And then she told him she had to go home now. and she left into the cornor of his room. He just kept looking at the cornor of the room and i asked, "is that where the angel went" and he said "yes". He just kept saying that he wanted the angel to come back. He was so sad that she left.

I kind of wonder if it was a dream or maybe his guardian angel came to talk to him! I just think it is so sweet that he saw an angel whether while he was sleeping or not.

awww, I was always told each one of us is born with a guardian angel. I still believe that and I truly wonder if babies do or do not see them.

I do believe in spirits, whether they are angels or what not. I KNOW my brother has visited me on many, many occasions!! It is so cool.

Did someone in your family recently pass?

By Bellajoe on Friday, January 9, 2004 - 09:12 pm:

No, noone in our family recently passed. My dad passed away about 13 years ago, i sometimes wonder if it could be him coming to say hello.

We haven't talked about angels much and have one book about baby angels that we have not read in a long time. So it's not like angels were on his mind when he went to bed.

This evening he told me that he wants the angel to come back. It really made an impression on him.

Sorry this is so long. I have only told my Mom this because I wasn't sure what had happended and I didn't want people to think I was crazy. My Grandma passed away a few years ago. One day I was walking into the store with all my kids and I noticed this older lady waiting by a car I was parked next to and I had to take a second look because she looked alot like my Grandma. As I was getting my kids out of the van she walked up behind me and asked how are my babies doing. It kinda took me off because she said how was my babies. I said the are doing good. I pulled the twins out first. and she said I haven't got to see these two yet and I pulled Grace out and she said the same thing. When Dannah came out (Dannah was not quite one when she passed away she is 8 now) The lady said oh theres my presious angel and she just smiled. What really got me. when my Grandma was in dying in the hospital I took Dannah in to see her for the last time and as I was walking up to her bed my Grandma said theres my presious angel anyway. I just stood there not knowing what to say all I wanted to do was cry.she said that I was doing a good job with my kids and she was proud of me and the whole time this lady is talking to me Josie (2 one of the twins)is sitting in the cart and patting this lady hand and trying to hug her and Josie is not a people person and this was odd for her. The lady kissed her on the forehead and got into the car parked next to us and that was it. Dannah keep asking Mom was that Great Grandma. I didn't know what to say. I told my mom about it and she just cried and I don't know what to think. but I do believe it was her or an angel she sent for her. I know it sounds weird but my older girls today will still talk about this.

By Missy3 on Friday, January 9, 2004 - 11:57 pm:

WOW, you better write that down. What a great experience to have happen to you and the kids!!!
I believe somehow, someway that WAS her.

Isn't it comforting???

By Mommyathome on Friday, January 9, 2004 - 11:58 pm:

That is so sweet :)

I definitely believe in spirits being present. For about a year after my Dad died, my oldest DD (she was 18 months when he died), would look out the window of the car while we were driving and just talk and talk to *somebody*. We asked her one day what she seen out there and she said "special grandpa with is doggy and horse".
You have to know that my dad was an avid horse and dog lover. The thing is, is that he was severely disabled (major stroke, couldn't walk, couldn't talk) and that was the only way that DD ever knew him to be. We had never discussed the horses and dogs with her. There is no way that she would have known that. DH just looked at me, and I looked at him...I got all teary eyed and DH got goosebumps.

We've had several other experiences like that. My step brother has also had a major experience with my mom after she died.

I definitely believe! And, I like to think that my mom and dad are near as we go about our daily lives.

Oh I LOVE these stories!!! I have ALWAYS believed that children and animals can see spirits and angels. WE could, at one time, but as we get older, and life beats us up, we tend to put up "filters", and we don't see them as often.
I have heard MANY of these stories, and I have had some very REAL experiences of my own, with my Dad, my Father-in-law, and my son.
What a WONDERFUL story about the lady in the parking lot! I agree...WRITE IT DOWN!

Isn't it comforting to know that we ARE visited by our loved ones, and that they are a part of our life, still.

I have seen my pets very engaged with something that I can't see. I believe that you have to be pure of heart to see them on any kind of a regular basis.

By Hol on Saturday, January 10, 2004 - 01:55 am:

I also believe that spirits and angels will visit us in dreams. When God had something important to tell someone, in the Bible, HE frequently did it in dreams.Sometimes, it's the only time that we are quiet and receptive.

I have had dreams, but I have also had VISITATIONS. There is a difference. In a visitation, you will wake up FEELING like you have been with that person.

We have a friend who got divorced when his kids were quite small, and they went to live in another town, with his ex. He had a white haired woman "visit" him in his sleep one night, and she asked him how his children were. That they must be "getting big".She said, "I remember them in Sunday School. I used to play the piano". When he described her, I said, "That's Lucy. She DID play the piano at church"! She had passed away a few years before.

He also had a piano in his house, that he had bought for the kids. One night, it started playing by itself, (and, no, it wasn't a player piano. It was a regular one).

I remember when my Joey (3) was a baby. he would look at a point in the room and just smile and coo. I often wondered what or who he was looking at! My dad or grandma may have been there to visit him and meet him.

By Newbabysarah on Saturday, January 10, 2004 - 10:12 am:

I agree with the VISITATIONS thing. A friend of mine died not too long ago and he was very young and every once in a while he will visit me in my dreams and bring me back to where we grew up. Each time I wake up from the dreams, I always feel like I really did spend time with him. It makes me cry but helps ease alot of the pain at the same time.

It's been 5 years since my mom died. She is in my dreams about once a week. It is definitely comforting! I always wish those dreams would go on forever LOL. They are just everyday, normal dreams, but she is a part of them!!
