How are your Thank You notes coming along? :)

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive January 2004: How are your Thank You notes coming along? :)
By Eve on Friday, January 9, 2004 - 11:35 am:

I am still writing mine! I've been really tired this week and have been fighting off a cold, so I've been slower than usual. For some reason, I am just really not motivated this year! I hope you all are doing better than me! :)

Worked on them over the weekend and got them sent out on Monday. I just knew if I didn't do it then it was not going to get done. :)

I'm still working on ours, too! THIS weekend...

By Mommyathome on Friday, January 9, 2004 - 12:10 pm:

We don't send Thank you notes out for Christmas gifts. (if that's what your talking about)
We just call everyone the weekend after Christmas to thank them and wish them a Happy Holiday.

By Tonya on Friday, January 9, 2004 - 12:24 pm:

I have never done thank you cards for holidays. We don't receive any gifts in the mail we open all of our gifts in front of the person giving them so we thank them then.

I do thank you cards for all B-day parties and I will do them for the baby shower but never holidays.

You just reminded me that I need to send out four more!!!! Thank you!!! :)

Sent ours out on Wednesday. The kids had theirs done last week. They can have the entire break to finsih them but they have to be complete by the day they head back to school. They are so good about writing them. Well, the girls are anyway. My son hates to do them so I let him draw a picture for the person instead. He finished his on Tuesday....Tuesday night :)

They were in the mail last Saturday. Along with Blake's HALLOWEEN pictures and a pic of the boys in front of the Christmas tree. Talk about slooooowwwwwwwwwwwww. ;)

I hope you feel better soon Eve.

Done as of today!!! DS's birthday is on Valentine's Day so only 5 more weeks until another round.

By Debbie on Friday, January 9, 2004 - 01:37 pm:

Well, I sent mine out last weekend along with my Christmas cards. I am hoping with the move everyone will cut me a break this year.

By Conni on Friday, January 9, 2004 - 01:40 pm:

Thats hilarious Debbie!

Our house had the flu for Christmas so we haven't even exchanged gifts yet! Hopefully next weekend.

By Yjja123 on Friday, January 9, 2004 - 01:52 pm:

My kids are not allowed to play with a gift until they write a thank you. Needless to say, the "Thank You's" were written on Christmas day and the day after. :)
When they were younger I let them draw a picture but now that they are old enough to write I have them write the thank yous. I buy a package of cards and have them addressed and ready to go. They just have to write a couple of sentences and draw a picture and then we drop them in the mail box.

I sent all my Christmas thank-yous out before New Years Eve. Then I had the thank-yous for dinners and parties we've attended during the Holidays to write. I got those finished before our Open House. I just finished the 60 thank-yous for the hostess gifts people brought two days ago.

By Eve on Friday, January 9, 2004 - 02:03 pm:

I'm finished! Now, to remember to mail them tomorrow :)

Bea, wow, you put me to shame. LOL!

Thanks, everyone! It makes me feel better to know I am not the only one a little slow this year!

I don't think I could not send a thank you card. I usually try to send them for everything. I think if someone took the time to buy me a gift or to think of me in some way, the least I can do is send a note. Of course, thanking in person is a good thing too! :)
