Sarah's getting baptized

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive January 2004: Sarah's getting baptized

My hubby and I decided to do a special thing for my dd's baptism. We are going to have it done outside near our home. We live in the country and there is a beautiful trail on our road with a river that flows all the way through the trail so I found a reverend who is willing to come and officiate the ceremony. She is going to bring a beautiful ceramic white bowl and she will put the river water in it and bless the water then baptise the baby with it. Afterwards, we will put some of the blessed water in a nice container and keep it forever, hopefully. It is going to be so special, I will pick all of the verses that I want for the ceremony and the reverend will do a traditional baptism. What do you ladies think of this?

It sounds beautiful, take lots of pictures and I hope you scrapbook because it sounds like you will want to show her this as she gets older.

Can I ask where you live and when you'll be doing this?

I'm on the PA/MD border (I live in PA). We are about 1 hour from the National Aquarium. DDs love to go there.

Marg, I live in Monkton. Very close to the MD/PA line. We are planning to do it in May. I actually don't scrapbook but what I do is use a website to make a yearbook. It is a real coffee table hard book and it has all the highlights of our year with pictures and quotes that we use. I think it's a cool way to show people your memories and we will continue to make them every January with pictures from the previous year. Anyways, I kind of got off track. I will be sure to post pictures when the baptism is over.

It says you can receive 10 points if I say you referred me to the site. How do I get your email to give you the points?
