6 weeks and counting DOWN!!!!

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive January 2004: 6 weeks and counting DOWN!!!!
By Tonya on Saturday, January 3, 2004 - 10:50 pm:

Well I am now 34 weeks along already and boy oh boy am I ready for delivery. I don't think this little one has stopped moving yet today. I swear my stomach has been in some weird shapes today. I am at the point where I cannot breath and I am peeing (if that is what you want to call it) all of the time. My back is killing me and this heartburn is awful. It comes on at the stupidest times. I am not losing feeling in both my legs if I sit wrong or if I even attempt to sleep which is also a joke. I spend more time trying to get out of bed to go to the bathroom then I do actually sleeping. I am always hungry but can only eat 2-3 bites then I am full for maybe 20-30 minutes then hungry again. Ladies 40 weeks for a gestation period is crazy. Why can't we be like dogs they go for 50-60 days and can have 10-12 at a time. That to me sounds great how about you. 10-12 births sounds like allot fo hey at least it only lasts 2 months.

Well now that I have vented I feel a little better and I have to pee again so I need to send this through so I can go waddle down the hall exhaust myself by undressing pee enough to maybe fill a medicine cup then waddle back up here to read some more.

Have a nice night ladies!!!

Wow, Tonya, that went fast...for me at least! LOL
I'm sure Timmy is getting excited for the arrival of the baby!

By Bobbie on Saturday, January 3, 2004 - 11:00 pm:

LOL Poor Tonya. This will all be a fleeting memory in a few short weeks. (((((HUGS)))))

By Marg on Sunday, January 4, 2004 - 07:01 am:

((((Tonya)))) It will go quick! And just think of that bundle of joy you will be soon holding:)

I looked something like out of the Alien movie with our third child. She was 10 pounds 7 oz when born. She was a week overdue, I begged him to induce me, a week later they had to induce me, wheewww! She looked like a 3 month old when I held her, lol! We'll be praying for you!

Tonya, you wrote I am not losing feeling in both my legs if I sit wrong or if I even attempt to sleep. Do you mean you are now losing feeling??? Not to worry, I'm not teasing about the typo (if that's indeed what it is). LOL

Actually, what I want to say is that *could* be serious. It sounds like pressure on a nerve in your lumbar spine, have you told your doctor about this?

I was just concerned, I had a friend who had the same thing when she was pregnant and she had a herniated disk. And I've BTDT twice myself. Please look into it!

By Trina~moderator on Sunday, January 4, 2004 - 09:40 am:

Oh, I remember that stage. Hang in there, Tonya!

By Mommyathome on Sunday, January 4, 2004 - 10:28 am:

I remember those feelings all too well, myself. Those last couple of months are terrible! With my third, I was HUGE (found out after delivery I was 2 weeks overdue....miscalculation by the ultrasound).

I remember not being able to sleep...the heartburn....frequent potty trips! Oh, I feel for you :) You are almost there though! Can't wait for you to introduce your little one to momsview :)

By Bethk on Sunday, January 4, 2004 - 11:22 am:

I guess I'm the odd one but I enjoyed the last months of my pregnancy. I was uncomfortable but I was also in awe. My mother says it's only because I had several miscarriages. The best part of my pregnancy was the labor and delivery. I was in labor with ds for 20hrs and dd for only 2 hrs. I really enjoyed the experience! (but I hope I'm through)

By Bethk on Sunday, January 4, 2004 - 11:25 am:

Oh yea I wanted to add that it was very special with my first one because he was born on my 21st birthday.

By Dawnk777 on Sunday, January 4, 2004 - 05:42 pm:

With my second one, I had gestational diabetes and had to get up in the middle of the night to check my blood sugar. Then, since my blood sugar was dropping in the middle of the night, I had to get up about every couple hours to eat something. It was no problem. I was hungry anyway. I got to the point that I may as well have the baby here, since I wasn't getting any sleep anyway. I was begging to be induced, too! LOL!

Thankfully, my water broke 2 weeks before her due date and it had to happen! Good luck, Tonya. I didn't especially like the ends of my pregnancies, either, although, I was fortunate enough not to have heartburn with either one.

By Mommyathome on Sunday, January 4, 2004 - 05:49 pm:

Beth, I have to say that I have loved my labors and deliveries as well! Even though they've all been long, and each had their own set of complications....it is truely amazing. I would do it again in a heartbeat!

By Andi on Sunday, January 4, 2004 - 06:14 pm:

Is that what I have to look forward to...I almost forgot. Well I never forgot about the Heart Burn that was the worst with my DS. I am 3 months and 1 week so I still have a ways to go.
Just think in 6 weeks you are going to be holding a perfect little miracle! :)

By Marg on Sunday, January 4, 2004 - 06:33 pm:

Congrats Andi! I didn't know!

I'm like Robin and Beth, my deliveries went so quick, I mean it was painful, but quick.

First one, less than 4 hours in the middle of the night. Second one less than 3 hours, last one 1 hour 10 minutes, but dh said I could have pushed once they induced me. Doctor walked away because he had 6 of us due at one time:) I loved when they came out and laid them on me:) Brings tears to my eyes:)

By Bellajoe on Sunday, January 4, 2004 - 09:51 pm:

I know how you feel TOnya! It will be over soon and you will be holding a beautiful baby! That did seem like it went FAST, it feels like you just announced that you were pregnant!

I'm sorry, i don't remember, do you know what you are having? Did you pick out names yet?

By Tonya on Monday, January 5, 2004 - 10:08 am:

I am having a girl they say but I won't believe it until she comes out. If they are right it will be Jade Mildred S. (after my late grandma a surprise for my dad) if it is a boy it will be Chet Daniel S.

The DR said the feeling lose is just the way the baby is sitting inside on a nerve and there is not much I can do for it other than hope it doesn't get any worse or they will have to take me off work and restict my driving. I go to the DR today for my 34/35 week check up.

A cute funny for you, My mom and I were talking yesterday and I told her how the baby hadn't stopped moving since I got out of bed yesterday and she told me that meant the baby wanted me to slow down and relax and my answer to that was if she doesn't like the accomidations on the inside then GET OUT!!!

I know these last 5-6 weeks will go by fast I just I am just at that point where I am ready and nothing will make it better until I deliver. I so want to sleep on my stomach it is not even funny anymore. Hell I would be happy to just sleep for longer than 30-90 minutes straight without having to go potty.

I remember those days! Terrible for me. I have a small frame and my dd was in my pelvis the whole time I was pregnant. I carried so low that everyone said they couldn't believe how low my belly was. I was not one of those " I just love being pregnant" types, although I wanted to be that way. I guess if the back pain, leg pain, constant cramps, appetite problems, sleep problems, and not fitting any of my regular clothes would have never happened, then I may have enjoyed myself!!!! Anyways, as my family told me before I had my dd, HAPPY LABOR DAY! Woohoo!

By Kernkate on Thursday, January 8, 2004 - 09:54 am:

Tonya, I also remember them days...but they are all worth it! I like the names you picked. I was the same way with my 3rd when they said it was a girl after 2 boys I said I would believe it when I saw it. And what a joy she is. After having 2 boys its so weird to be picking up dolls instead of hot wheels...LOL
Hang in and the last weeks will go by quickly!
Best of luck!

By Tonya on Thursday, January 8, 2004 - 02:10 pm:

I sure hope they do I am making sure right now that all of my bills are paid ahead so that when i go in on the 19th if they decide to take me off then I will be prepared and paid ahead.

I am at the point right now that I cannot breath anymore. You know how thick the air is when it is really humid outside that is how I feel all the time.

I want this baby out!!!!!!

By Fraggle on Thursday, January 8, 2004 - 09:34 pm:

Tonya-I remember wanting to sleep any way other than on my left side-but you know what is funny-now I can only sleep on my left side!:)

Hang in there and take the time to rest up before the baby comes!
